ibecarlo -> Bug in Attributing Loss (10/15/2005 1:12:00 AM)

This is related to something that I noted quite a while ago. Since it's another example that may be different that that before, I thought I'd mention it. Scenario: Start of bottom of the 9th. Blue Jays ahead 3-2. Hargan walks Crawford. Hargan gets Perez to ground out, Crawford goes to 2nd. Hargan gives up single to Tabb, Crawford to 3rd. Tabb is now potentially the winning run. Hargan is still pitching so he is responsible for Tabb. Johnson relieves Hargan. Johnson walks Allen, loading bases. 1 out. Johnson gets Page to fly out. No runners move. Bases loaded, 2 out. Fryman relieves Johnson. Fryman walks Gross to tie game. Bases still loaded. Willis relieves Fryman. Willis gives up grand slam to Armas. Game over: 7-3 loss. Loss is given to Willis. AFAIK, Hargan should have gotten the loss since Tabb (the winning run) was his responsibility.
