Australia's last surviving WWI veteran who served overseas died today, aged 106. William Allen signed up in the RAN in 1914 and served for 30 years in the navy in both world wars. Australia has only one WWI soldier left- out of 400,000 volunteers- but he was still in training when the war ended.
