Hard Sarge -> Best battle I have ever had (11/5/2005 7:55:06 PM)

Would have to claim this as the best battle yet France vs Aus, 1794 the battle starts and it is 56,000 French and English troops vs 49,000 Aus long battle on the flank with my English friends, and I am part way behind a small lake, so just try to sit still and pick my targets, after a while, I don't see any more English, but get the odd report of this or that little battle all too soon, night falls, over all, my boys are not doing too well, but neither are the bad guys during the middle of the night, I am swarmed with Aus troops, my supply gets routed and some of my troops break , soon I am out of ammo, but I drive off the attackers as dawn breaks, I no longer see any English, and only get a few reports of some Cav action on my flank, my 3 Divs (plus 1 Cav) are hurting and low on ammo, try to break 2 of them off the line and head towards the little ville behind me, of course there are 3 Aus Divs with the same idea by midafternoon, I am gaining some ammo, and have 3 Aus Divs tied down, then notice I got around 5 Divs to the my Northeast, and some Div south of me, and even more to the West of me what the hey, they is a lot more them then 40,000 men !!!! I can't pull my troops out, so it is time to call for help I got 106,000 in Lombary, 69,000 in Vento and 40,000 Switzerland I call for the 40,000, then see that I still show the reinforcement button, so later call in the troops from Vento it is the 3rd day of the battle, I am able to get my starting troops some ammo, and back into formation, major hassle, if they fire, the return fire will break them my reinforceing Cav is able to come in and break his lines, my arty comes up and takes pot shots at what they can reach, all these troops are too tired to try and form lines, so they just move and fire they finally break just before night the losses are not that great, 29,000 to 14,000 (France lost 10,000, so the other 4,000 belong to the English) but the Aus Armies lost 10 Divs, not bad for what should of been a minor battle
