ColFrost -> Ground Units stop moving (11/23/2005 1:15:49 AM)

I searched the topic looking for other instances, but the list was long.

I had a Dutch Base moving from Broome to Wyndham. It's one hex away, and it has stopped, and won't allow me to set it anything but defense. It is Southwest Pacific HQ.

I had taken a Dutch Regiment to Wyndham. So I moved that to the unit, to see if it would inhook the Naval base unit. That has stopped as well. Have I done something wrong I don't know about?

The Game "hates" you and wants to punish you...[;)]

Okay, go through the usual checklist:

- Is Wyndham your final destination?

- What is the "distance" left for your unit to travel?

- What is the fatigue level of your unit?

- What is the supply level of your unit?

- Are there any enemy units nearby?

- Is the pathway clear of enemy units?

- If you hit the "w" key do you see "A"s or "J"s around?

- Have you sacrificed any virgins today? [;)]

Land movement in this Game is one of the great mysteries of the Universe. Even the Illuminati have given up trying to understand it...

Good luck -

ColFrost -> 1.795 (11/25/2005 7:08:22 AM)

Well, thank you, ADavidB, and you to, Sgt Keroro.

But I have a new problem. I uploaded version 1.795, and on both my big campaign games as the Japanese, all my commanders from the letters Ma and down have disappeared. It's not a leader leak, since they were there one turn, and poof, they disappeared. Is this posted somewhere that I didn't notice?

And can I fix it?

You need to ask Mike Wood or Eric Rutins that. I've been avoiding the 1.7XX upgrades and I haven't regretted that decision.

Good luck -

Thanks, I'll send them a pm mail about the problem, I guess.

What kind of base force were you moving, and what is the date? Certain Dutch units (Naval Base Forces) can "upgrade" to static units. Once that happens, where they are when they upgrade is where they will stay put...[:(]

This would NOT, however, explain why your Dutch regiment is not moving.

Make SURE that all computer controls for ALL zones are off, otherwise weird things like this can happen.

ColFrost -> RE: Ground Units stop moving (11/26/2005 3:28:07 AM)

Actually, the Dutch regiment can move again. (It was the fatigue). But the Naval base apparently is now static. Oh well. :P

More concerning is the leader loss since I upgraded to 1.795. I didn't save previous turns (do'h!) and I really don't want to end it, but I lost half my leaders, including Yamaguchia, Samamaki and Yamamoto.

michaelm75au -> RE: Ground Units stop moving (11/26/2005 3:48:48 AM)

The clearing of blocks of leaders has been reported (see Beta Feedback thread).
The leader entries have been totally zero'ed. There is nothing there to be recovered.

This is NOT the usual leader leak bug, but something different.
And there is no obvious trigger that I can see that seems to be causing it. [Apart that it seems to happening in upgraded games. And that it does NOT seem to happen immediately the game is upgraded, but later. Does NOT happen because the leader table is full.]

As someone mentioned, fixing bugs is a bit like peeling an onion...peel off one layer and there is another below it.
