And note how badly mauled France is...Austrian AI really pounded her, and then Austria was subsequently pounded by the AI Prussia...

LOL! I've deliberately stayed away from Prussia as I pursued other wars (Prussia is my loyal Ally, after all, even if Stedding keeps trying to reduce Prussia's liking for Russia every turn).
Now how am I supposed to eventually deal with this? I have to take them on soon - they are about two years (at the present rate of Glory accumulation) of getting beyond reach...

Just beat that Silesian army in a battle or two, that should earn you a few glory!

Well its been 6 months since that last pic above. That ludicrous Prussian Army was moving toward an insane Austria who had just DoW'd Prussia. They've already captured Vienna and it's only a matter of time until Austria again surrenders.

My intention was to turn on Prussia and try to coax England (also at war with Prussia and with a very large (for England) standing Army in London) to move to Berlin. Alas - the Brits had cajoled me (read: I'm stupid) to sign a Pact of mutual Protection, and this very month, I went to war with both France and Sweden, as they declared on England.

So now I cannot confront Prussia; I have 120,000 troops heading to Stockholm via Finland (the Swedes moved against Finland with a small Army), and 275,000 in Russian-owned Galicia, facing 400,000 French troops that have already attacked my force there two months running, out of southern Austria (they own a former Austrian province, and are using it for supply - I have dispatched Cossacks to hopefully over-run that depot and cut their supply).

Apologies, this is becoming something of an AAR - should have posted this in that area.

Anyway, I'll likely lose this campaign, but I'll try to get France out of the way and have a final show-down with the "new" France - Prussia.

Oh by the way - this is 1796 campaign, on General level difficulty - so much for smaller Armies! That Prussian Army pictured above has actually grown a cpl rows of divisions since that pic, and yet Prussia has over $2000 in the bank.

I cannot manage that. I can barely keep 500,000 total troops in the field without going broke, and a portion of those are garrisoned or foraging.

Anyone care to bet that if I engage this ludicrous Army, which has grown now to where you can't even see the flag underneath it, LOL - the game will crash? Hope not, but I am concerned...

Just curious, but what difficulty level are you playing at?

Are you sure they're a legit army? It might be a huge stack of POWs.

One of the problems with this game is that the AI cheats like the Devil. And...added to that, many of the provinces Prussia controls are the richer German and French states. Economically, backwards Russia can never compete with financially united Germany-Prussia. This is no historic parallel I'm speaking of. When I have all of the German states under my control, money is no object. I can easily afford 4 armies and 2 fleets at 100% readiness. Throw in a third fleet, and it gets dicey. Throw in the cheatin', lyin, stealin' AI and you can have a monstrous army like that.

I like to see it, though:)

No it's legit - I have watched it while the computer grinds it's turns, and it is a collection of Corps and Armies.

More in a moment...

I'm at work so cannot provide a screenshot (I'll try to do that tonight), but in general there was a somewhat disappointing end to all of this. Mighty AI Prussia was crushed easily, although mostly by her own foolishness.

I (Russia) concluded the wars mentioned above (with Sweden and France) by forcing them to surrender (in both cases, their Capitals were occupied and Insurrectionists forced a surrender). I then made the decision to take 9 months to reorganize, restock the coffers, add some troops, and mass on the eastern Prussian border for a final show-down with the Prussian monster. At this point, Prussia had a Glory score of about 4,000, my score - in second place - was about 2,400.

Alas, while I was reorganizing and such, Sweden went to war with Prussia. Prussia then moved that entire mass of troops up into Sweden and after destroying the small Swedish Army, laid siege to Stockholm.

During this, France and Spain went to war with Prussia. The first thing they did was siege Berlin, as well as destroy the Prussian depot chain. At which point, the Prussian Army started taking massive foraging casualties...but it just sat there, in Sweden.

I jumped in to the war a few months later, even though I wasn't fully organized for it. Sweden surrenders the same turn, to Prussia. The Prussian Army teleports to Malmo, a province it owns from a previous war with Sweden, and then begins a march back down through Danish provinces. Watching that process I could tell that most of the Prussian Corps were half the size they were when they had marched into Sweden months before.

To conclude, after a number of scattered battles/sieges between Prussian, Spanish, British (the Brits had been at war with Prussia for years) and French (to whom I am now allied), and Russians, and with Berlin occupied (by Spanish, dang it, they got the siege die roll I guess), Prussia surrendered to England and Russia - but stayed at war with Spain. I took 4 eastern Prussian provinces, Reparations, and a little extra mandatory Peace.

I have vaulted into first place, ahead of England by about 1,000 Glory. Prussia dropped dramatically.

By the by, I had forgotten that I had set this game victory option to "highest glory" so it's going to go til 1815...this is a fun campaign.
