I just recieved the combat replay from Dave. Another excellent turn despite the fact that Dutch Harbour was captured.
The big news is that he did not commit his CV Fleet into action and I managed to hit quite a few enemy transports in the area!!!

RE: The year 1942 ends! - 
....8 units propably behind level 9 fortifications + KB/BB's in the area just does not sound good but my options are limited... unfortunately. 
...I know it might end up in disaster but also there is a good chance of getting first major allied victory of the war. I guess I'am a gambling man here
