With this new editor and beside the useful extras added that remove the odd bits people have zapped in, I though, or was under some horrible impression that it was alos going to have CSV import/export to make bulk editoring available.

So I gather this is a non issue and will not be included ?

All well and good. To each his own. I have no problem with that. What is nightmarish for me as a scenario and campaign designer is trying to find just what to use that will suit all.

So, I try to stick with what has been called the "vanilla version," or the latest officially approved update from Matrix.

Don't get me wrong. I appreciate and greatly admire those who have labored long and hard to make the OOBs more accurate according to their information or point of view.

There are, however, many who play Steel Panthers who have never visited this web site, but who do look at the Wargamer for new battles.

And there are all of you. What are you using. Which set of OOBs are yours of choice. How can I create a battle that honors and respects four different sets of OOBs. If I use one, I offend three other guys who worked very hard on their own OOBs.

I have lived through numerous OOB teams over the last five years, including the one headed up by Scott Grasse, then Paul Vebber, then Bryan Melvin, and maybe Harry Zahn and Stuart Millis. and I'm sure I missed someone.

This will probably go on forever and those who are expert in this field should pursue it.

But as for the scenarios and campaigns that my teams design, they will use the latest OOB versions officially approved by Matrix. Its the only norm I know to follow.

I will now start stating in each intro text which OOB or particular version of SPWAW we used in the scenario design.

Good luck to all of you who have taken on this noble task.

WIld Bill

WB : It might be better for all if the special Mods could be used with ModSwapper and packaged as such. I was under some misguide impression that was what it was for.

More of a hint to the various OOB builders etc.

I fully understand you problem, but it seems its going to be a thing, stating which set of OOBs and graphics to use.

The problem is that Alby keeps making changes to his Mod so that will be the most difficult to keep track of.

The Mods ARE meant to be used with Modswapper.
For the most part, These latest changes being made are obvious errors such as units not showing up in the buy menu due to datafield errors in the editor, or code issues such as the satchel charges having specs that work against the intended code.
Plus I wanted to use all the programmers conventions which IMO makes gameplay more like ww2 instead of modern warfare.
This will be last set put out by me , trust me, too time consuming, and they will never be made to suit everyone.
Some very good peole have helped on this set, MIke "warhorse" Amos, Stuart Maj Destruction" Millis, Flashfyre SP and Gunny Erwin, all oob knowledable people.
The terrain graphics are being updated as well and do not really affect scenario design and the such.

Use the standard OOBs and only do edits when tweaking the norway custom stuff for scenario design purposes. Surely do not all apply to "programmer's conventions", but that´s not their purpose anyway.
