Watching a documentary on the National Geographic Channel on the Sapporo Maru which sunk in Truk Lagoon. Only ship in Truk to still have the ship's bell still intact, but the next day it was stolen.

The ship was sunk by either B-25/26, can't remember which type of plane.

Which one - the fighter Boyington, or his twin brother in the Transport Squadron that drops sheep chips on the Japanese?

Lucky you. I have one more day before leave so my boss is cracking the whip to get as much blood out of me as possible before I vanish into the ether for 10 days.

The fog today has been crazy. Freezing fog from the start, it actually got worse through the day. We had to scrub all but 1 of our flights, and the landers had to divert. The latest gen is that the fog is going to stay for a few more days, would this count as a white Christmas?

Never got a Christmas bonus in my life. Now the Zero bonus......

Well I got something close this year. Due to my weird work schedule, I was able to get 10 days of leave for only 3 leave days. My boss gave us a pass on Friday. Since I don't work on Friday, it was pushed on to the day after Christmas, which gave me a day of leave back. Now I get 10 days off for only 2 days of leave.

At the end of the year I'll have 25 days left. With what I get a month (2.5 days) I could take a day a week off next year (3 day work weeks!) and still have 3 days left over at the end of next year.

Well, let's see... Coming up on 20 months of membership... 16583 posts...

This is gonna be difficult... Assume 30 days a month for ease of calculating, meaning 600 days... About 28 posts per day, on average...

Back to WitP: I was having problems moving air units off my carriers to reinforce them with other chutai. I finally figured it out. Somehow, some of the carrier daitai "changed" their HQ to Home Defense Force (restricted HQ). It happened to all the carriers that I had sent home to repair. Those planes never left the carrier decks. I now have 160 planes that have to have their HQ changed to offload them to reinforce them. I'm not even sure they'll fly missions, so I can't use them. That's 640 PPs, or 13 days.

Damn, that pissed me off. I saw an opportunity to ambush 2 of the 3 remaining US carriers in the middle of nowhere and I can't take advantage of it.

Yeah, anytime you park a carrier in a port, there is a chance that the air units switch to that port's HQ...
