Heh! I'm actually getting an unwanted lesson in management at business college at the moment; we're gearing up for the final of three large written projects of this semester, and I've ended up in a project group with three people who desperately need to be micromanaged for them to actually DO ANYTHING!!!

Wonder how badly it would affect my grade if I had them all three wacked?

Send them down the coast road near Seattle. They will disappear when the Giant Cat gets them, and no one will be the wiser...

Give them a leader with high leadership value, and set them to 90% training...

I sympathize. When I was in B-school I learned the fine art of the work-around. Someone not doing their part of the project? No worries, I'll just do that too. I decided having them fit for cement galoshes wasn't going to help, it would only take more time.

Or maybe you'll get lucky and they will fall prey to the disappearing unit bug.

Just for fun; it actually lives in the Pacific Ocean, so that's enough relevance to put it on the WitP forum.

Kiwa Hirsuta, aka the Yeti Crab. Recently found in the deep waters off Easter Island, near vents on the seabed.

"The animal is white and just shy of 6 inches (15 centimeters) long — about the size of a salad plate.

In what Segonzac described as a “surprising characteristic,” the animal’s pincers are covered with sinuous, hairlike strands.

It is also blind. The researchers found it had only “the vestige of a membrane” in place of eyes, Segonzac said.

The researchers said that while legions of new ocean species are discovered each year, it is quite rare to find one that merits a new family.

The family was named Kiwaida, from Kiwa, the goddess of crustaceans in Polynesian mythology."
