Re: The Roomba people (company called iRobot): it's nice to know that my call is important to them. A pre-recorded has told me so about 3 dozen times now...

Do you have a review of the Roomba? Do you like it? Any quirks/gotchas?

I really want to get one of these for the wife. We have two cats and you don't need guess at the consequences to the floor from that. Furballs everywhere.......

i've heard really good things about it. But:

this one won't even start taking a charge to get it to go, so back it goes... (Step 1 - charge the battery. A blinking yellow light indicates it is charging). After 13 hours and various maneuvers, i can not get it to do even this.

Alas, the NAKED ANIMAL Contest will be delayed until i can finish dealing with the Roomba problem. i have today off, so this is my chance to deal with RL stuff like this. i have to package this thing back up, take it back over to the store and see what they will do... (the cashier yesterday did assure me that they would take it back if it didn't work. We'll see...)

Because I have two cats who shed constantly. Plus, I want to setup a webcam and see what they do when this "furniture" starts moving around.

The Zero bonus should be illegal - pilots ticketed.

The Wildcat is a far superior plane to any Jap fighter

The B-17 is under-represented in WitP. There should be at least a 100 more produced per month and they should be able to fly from level 1 air fields.

The Bismark was sunk

WitP has no bugs people just don't know how to play it.

This wouldn't happen if you employed a food taster. All tyrants who are anyone have them.

If it was the last one, then it wasn't a "good" one.

Alas, the Kid is out of the house (heck, he's older than most of you!), and the wife has a muscle problem which makes it difficult for her to vacuum (although she usually still does it - i pitch in once in a while).

So, i thought this would be really neat - it could vacuum up all the junk the dogs tend to bring in (lots of little leaves!) It would also get rid of the aggravation my wife faces (rule #1 - KEEP HER HAPPY!)

Unfortunately, this didn't work out. i had a sneaking suspicion when i bought it yesterday that something was wrong - every box had the factory seal broken. i brought it back and said i would exchange it if they had one that wasn't open. Not one was found (from a pallette of them...)

i suspect that someone sold the store a lot of defective machines on the cheap (it WAS a good price - if it had worked.)

Anyway, after returning that and a few other errands, it is now 4:00 p.m. The day has fled, and while i can still do a NAKED ANIMAL contest, i suspect most of the usual participants are not about.

If there are at least TWO out there who want it, though, i will hold one.

Pffft. A Sherman is far superior to a LOG. It may take 5 to kill one but my Sherman has a faster turret traverse and is more reliable

So the plot thickens. You were out drinking with an ox, then ate him and now you have a hang over.
