word of warning if anyone wants to get Elder scrolls 4 Oblivion. make damn sure your PC is better than mine ! .. Mine is slightly above min specs . 2.2 GHX Proc. 1 gig ram and a 500MB graphics card ( Nvidia) . the game is so slow even on min options its unplayable ! .. Be careful everyone .. im sending mine back asap !

When i get a new PC in september ( the goal) i'll get it a again as it looks great .

Rob;

If you are going to wait till Sept, you might consider waiting till January (when the new OS comes out from Microsoft). Of course, XP driven machines will likely be discounted in late 2006

Of course, when you get the new version of Windows, you might find a big chunk of your old programs no longer work (or no longer work correctly...)

Gary Childress has started the Anti-Thread, "for those who disbelieve in the thread." No other posts so far, though... This could end up starting yet another Religious war!

I don't know how he can deny the existence of Thread when he almost certainly wrote that while wrapped in it.

(And if he wasn't, ewwwww! That's just icky.)

Or, you could just wait until this technology matures:

"Truly Micro Electronics in a Single Molecule
By JOHN MARKOFF
Published: March 24, 2006

SAN FRANCISCO, March 23 — In an advance suggesting that a new kind of ultrasmall computing circuit may one day be produced using conventional chip-making equipment, I.B.M. researchers have succeeded in fashioning an electronic circuit around a single carbon nanotube molecule, the company reported Thursday in the journal Science."

BTW - if you read the rest of the article, it says they think they can bring down size by a factor of 10, since the carbon nanotubes do not cause heat to build up (less transmission losses between components, etc.) So, maybe we can have a 8 oz laptop (instead of 6 pounds...)

Whither is The Thread? I will tell you. We have killed it--you and I. All of us are its murderers! Do we hear nothing as yet of the noise of the gravediggers who are burying The Thread? The Thread is dead.

Oh, the pain... The Thread is splintering into schismatic "faiths"...

And, alas, it is a True Fact that the 1.80 patch will not come out until all bow down before the One True Thread: The Thread!!
