ORIGINAL: rtrapasso Mordak has finally done it!!! Yes folk, our IT director, Mordak, Preventor of Information Services, has finally managed to COMPLETELY PREVENT people from using the computer from outside the building. Apparently, we have all been locked out of our network. It probably shouldn't cost the company more than, oh, $500,000 or so... Soon, perhaps, he can prevent anyone, anywhere from using the computer!! Then, his job will get much simpler, as he will have nothing to do (and be unemployed to boot...) I thought he didn't even work for the same company you did. Didn't you say he worked for the company that your company pays to provide them with network AND INTERNET access? Well, by contract, the two companies are intermingled - they share from the same profit pool. The other company is supposed to provide access to the computers and the internet - getting the reports out on time depends on this. If the reports don't get out, the clients will cancel their contracts - no more profit. They are extraordinarily sensitive to turn around time. After messing around for some time, the other company finally restored access to the internet.
