Sitting on Wake Island --
eyeing Speedy’s ships with bad intent.
Snot is running down his beak --
greasy flippers smearing shabby clothes.
Hey fabertong!
Drying in the cold sun --
Watching as the silly penguins run.
Hey fabertong!
Feeling like a dead duck --
spitting out pieces of his broken luck.
Oh fabertong!

Sun streaking cold --
an old bird wandering lonely.
Taking time
the only way he knows.
VPs hurting bad,
as he bends to pick a hand grenade --
he goes down to the shore
and warms his feet.

Feeling alone --
the army's up the road
salvation à la mode and
a cup of tea.
Fabertong my friend --
don't start away uneasy
you poor old sod, you see, it's only me.
Do you still remember
Aleutian's foggy freeze --
when the ice that
clings on to your beak was
screaming agony.
And you snatch your rat ‘til he last breaths
with deep-sea-diver sounds,
and explosions bloom like
flowers in the spring.

(sung/hummed to another song that i'll leave the reader to guess)

My joke of the day;

I have a really smart horse
Taught it history and math.
Can't teach it philosophy though,
Everyone knows
You can't put Descartes before the horse.

And we're closing with rapidity on 12,000 posts.

Plus, I'm personally nearing 10,600...

Bump to get us to top

Apollo 13 is on the Bravo channel right now. How in the heck did they make the movie so nerve wracking when we already know how it ends?

It's a Jethro Tull song called "Aqualung".

Either that, or he read Speedy's AAR (where answer was already given... )

Actually, to give T. credit, he did get the OTHER Wake Island song (a sadly mutated "Robert DeNiro's Waiting" by Bananarama).

I'm stumped.

Well, Terminus was correct - it is a genetically engineered version of "Aqualung" - hopefully you are familiar with it. As mentioned elsewhere, it just had its 35th Anniversary* and so they were giving it some air time.

*i find it really hard to believe that 35 years have zipped on by since it first came out.

Anyway, if you are unfamiliar with the tune, let me know and i'll try to find another 30 second clip...

I didn't read the AAR until after you just told me you'd answered it. What I did was, on a hunch, Google the line "spitting out pieces of his broken luck", because it seemed familiar.

Yes I put my own computer together from parts. They are easier to upgrade that way. No proprietary mother boards, sound cards, etc.
