i see you finally saw my postings...

i had tried the other day and gotten up to 16 posts speculating on if fabertong had done in Syd Barrett before Niceguy inserted a post!!

I would have commented on that but I have no idea who Syd Barrett is and dont really like the music from that time. I'm an 80s kid, my musical conciousness starts with MC Hammer or thereabouts.

i have never gotten in to rap/hip-hop/etc. i can appreciate occasional individual songs, but when they start playing for more than a few minutes at a time, i tune out. However, that has been my history with pop music in general from day 1, although it is exacerbated with more modern stuff.

BTW - how is life at the call center?

Pretty peaceful. We are well staffed today, so I can just sit back with my frapuchino and "supervise".

Sounds nice... i am having to make do with instant, although i have no complaints. Life for this moment is good.

Unfortunately, I need all of it I can get. I stayed up all night playing this new little gem called Red Orchestra. Didnt get a bit of sleep.

Sounds like a war game of the Eastern Front flavor... what is it, exactly?

Agreed. Rap/R&B/HipHop are among the very few genres I do not like, as my iPod will testify. But you have to admit that MC Hammer was very "special"...to say nothing of Sir Mix-a-Lot. One of my friends who lives in Japan says that he's made a habbit of humming Mix-a-lots's immortal anthem to himself while walking down the street.

A German vs Russian multiplayer FPS. Its a breath of fresh air to have an FPS that doesnt involve the western allies. Bit of a different war, I feel. Besides that, no crosshairs, ironsights only, which is very, very cool.

So you like WITP-type strategy AND FPS games?

I enjoy WitP a lot more, but it tends to be kind of slow...and the AI is dumb as a post (and I havent worked up the courage for a PBEM, mostly because it would be unfair to the other guy to have to deal with my erratic time constraints). I like FPS-type games for the rush, although I really do suck at them.

Oops - slight pause in the action.

Yeah - i am a (currently) a surgical pathologist specializing in Gastrointestinal Pathology. The company i came to work for a couple of years ago got bought out in a rather unpleasant fashion in a manner that i did not think could be legal.

However, the lawyers finally figured a way around the Texas Laws Against the Corporate Practice of Medicine. i had left my previous job to escape just a thing, and now i'm faced with it (Corporate Medicine) again. We (the 14 or so MDs that were in the old company) are now sort of in limbo as they figure out what they are going to do to us. One guy has given notice.

Gastrointestinal....wow, just a man I need to see. I've got a patient for ya.

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles. Seems to be the pattern nowadays, both medicine and education are ruled by committees of people who have no qualifications for having any ssay in such matteers. Is it a hospital or one of them big medical offices? Is going into private practice an option?

Edit: Currently? You mean you can requalify just like that?

Sorry - i've been working on my WITP turn... almost done.

Nice BUMPs!!!

As to "requalify "just like that"" - well, i am board certified in Anatomic Pathology (looking at stuff through the microscope) and Clinical Pathology (running a lab).

When a job evaporated due to consolidation, i spent 4 months studying very hard at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology - studying GI pathology (GI = gastrointestinal in this case. ) While this did not cost me any money, essentially no money was coming in.

I finally got a job at another place and i gravitated to just doing GI pathology. After doing it (and pretty much JUST that) for 12 1/2 years or so, i am rather good at it, i'm told.

So, i COULD do other things as well - however, i would be a bit rusty, and i'd rather do something i am very good at.

Heh...there are a few pathological things I could think of in regards to the avearge GI.

Its good that one thing you dont have to worry about is going jobless. There will always be a need of good medical specialists. What I need to do now is to get the GF unit to agree to go for an MD. After all, someone will need to support me.

Graycompany, he's sneaky, organized and effective, the ideal Japanese opponent really.

Right now we are in the middle of a full scale invasion of Cyelon (Sri Lanka). My LBA has stung him pretty good, but his IJN fighters are tearing up my CAP.

That's the good thing about playing the Allies...there's always more of them. Losing 17 fighters in a turn is nothing.
