I smashed the top of my head on a doorframe today, whilst doing laundry. That's one of the hazards of being 6'6" and is only mildly annoying. The REALLY annoying bit was the way my vertebrae went "click" when it happened. That's unusual and more than a little irritating, since I'm having more than a few problems moving my head now...

From a newsletter i get:

"A lot of my clients are involved in crafting and passing the laws which affect our lives!!! From a person who has been a Washington travel agent for thirty years, the following are examples of why our country is in trouble!"

* * * * *

Ø I had a New Hampshire Congresswoman ask for an aisle seat so her hair wouldn't get messed up by being near the window.

Ø I got a call from a candidate's staffer, who wanted to go to Capetown. I started to explain the length of the flight and the passport information, then she interrupted me with, "I'm not trying to make you look stupid, but Capetown is in Massachusetts," Without trying to make her look stupid, I calmly explained, "Cape Cod is in Massachusetts, Capetown is in Africa," Her response - click.

A senior Vermont Congressman called, furious about a Florida package we did. I asked what was wrong with the vacation in Orlando. He said he was expecting an ocean-view room. I tried to explain that's not possible, since Orlando is in the middle of the state. He replied, "Don't lie to me, I looked on the map and Florida is a very thin state!

An aide for a cabinet member once called and asked if he could rent a car in Dallas. When I pulled up the reservation, I noticed he had only a one-hour layover in Dallas. When I asked him why, he said, "I heard Dallas was a big airport, and we will need a car to drive between gates to save time."

An Illinois Congresswoman called last week. She needed to know how it was possible that her flight from Detroit left at 8:30 am and got to Chicago at 8:33 am. I explained that Michigan was an hour ahead of Illinois, but she couldn't understand the concept of time zones. Finally, I told her the plane went fast. She bought that.

Ø A New York lawmaker called and asked, "Do airlines put your physical description on your bag so they know whose luggage belongs to whom?" I said, "No, why do you ask?" She replied, "Well, when I checked in with the airline, they put a tag on my luggage that said FAT, and I'm overweight. I think that's very rude?" After putting her on hold for a minute while I looked into it. (I was laughing.) I came back and explained the city code for Fresno, CA is (FAT), and FAT was just a destination tag.

A Senator's aide called to inquire about a trip package to Hawaii. After going over all the cost info, she asked, "Would it be cheaper to fly to California, and then take the train to Hawaii?"

A lady Senator called and said, "I need to fly to Pepsi-Cola, Florida. Do I have to get on one of those little computer planes?" I asked if she meant fly to Pensacola, FL. She said, "Yeah, whatever!"

A senior Senator called and had a question about the documents he needed in order to fly to China. After a lengthy discussion about passports, I reminded him that he needed a visa. "Oh, no I don't. I've been to China many times and never had to have one of those." I double checked and sure enough, his stay required a visa. When I told him this he said, "Look, I've been to China four times and every time they have accepted my American Express!"

A New Mexico Congresswoman called to make reservations, "I want to go from Chicago to Rhino, New York." The agent was at a loss for words. Finally, the agent said, "Are you sure that's the name of the town?"

“Yes! What flights are there?" she demanded.

After some searching, the agent came back with, "I'm sorry, ma'am, I've looked up every airport code in the country and can't find a Rhino anywhere."

The lady retorted, "Oh, don't be silly! Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!"

The agent scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, "Do you mean Buffalo?"

"That's it! I knew it was a big animal."

Now you know why Government is in the shape it's in!

Really, really stiff neck. I'm not nauseous or suffering blurred vision, so hopefully it's not a concussion...

That's good. Stiffness could indicate swelling though. What's the treatment for swelling, ice?

Well, I am thoroughly enjoying my day off. My rear has not yet left the couch.

I am starting a new game against the AI, trying to get myself used to two day turns. I am playing the turn of days 3 and 4 and Force Z sorties from Sing to attack the Japanese forces landing at Kauntung (name?). I'm beginning to think something is wrong. My plan was to cover the surface force with the AVG. However, the AVG refuses to fly cap over Force Z, the Buffs at Sing won't do it either. Further, I have redone the turn 4 times and each time Force Z refuses to engage the enemy. That makes 8 days in a hex with enemy ships and no surface combat. What a buzz kill!

I am trying to figure what to do about Russia now that he invaded. It has slowed our game down. I have never considered this.

I am also about to go out and do some yard work.

I found my problem with Force Z. Apparently the TF commander had an aggression rating of 31, sounds like he couldn't get his rear off the couch today either.

The AI is doing strabge things in my game, I haven't seen the KB in over 5 months now.  I've started testing my little modifications, so far so good.

I know where it is! Somewhere between Tokyo and Truk, completely out of fuel.

The depressing part is: I'm serious...

Randomly, or can you reproduce the crash?

I can reproduce it.  When I get bored of sitting through the AI making it's move and hit escape.  Every time it reaches moving South East Fleet ships to active bases it dumps me   It's fine if I leave it in 'slow' time to do it.
