In memory of Nik - gone but not forgotten:

I am assuming that Nik is the one of the right, weighting down the log.

This picture does much to explain his odd fixation.

Dixie, do you have hair on your tongue? Cause I'm thinking that might be caused by something else.

Onime, you still at work?

Unfortunately.

Listen, do you guys have any tips for job hunting? The only thing I really do is websites like Monster and CareerBuilder.

I quit because I didn't like the constent sales aspect.

Can you tell us a little about what you do Onime. That would help.

Onime my website is still up from the days I did the executive search work.

It is http://www.atasearch.com/

There are a number of articles about job hunting under the career resources area. They are general, but right on the mark in terms of how to conduct a job search. I would be happy to talk about it or answer any questions you have online or offline. Hope it is helpful.

An interesting thing happened last night...I went to office around 10 PM to check my mail (no internet at home ATM) and there were police tapes in front of the building...Somebody has left an RPG warhead at the parking lot...

Well, it looks like an RPG, but it's bigger than any I saw before. The police officer they left to guard it was quite young and didn't look happy at all.

The craziest thing is it's still there (19 hours later)...When I made a comment to the new "guard", he replied "It doesn't seem to bother THEM".

Sarcastic policemen? What's next?

Rigth now, I'm a call center supervisor for a 3rd part logistics company. Before that I ran the call center at an appliance repair company, before that I ran their warehouse. I have two BAs that have nothing to do with customer service, plenty of honors and all that stuff which is all but useless.

Just came back from a 1.5 hour lecture on gastritis from a world-expert.

He went into history of gastritis - and mentioned that the real progress started back in the early 1900s when two (allegedly) Danish doctors published their work. The work was done by Dr. Bloch and Dr. Faber!!!

We need to question Faber about this... this may account for his abortive penguinista invasion of Denmark...

My oldest friend just found out a guy who worked temporarily in his office (Social Security office) years ago as a receptionist (he called him "the most overqualified receptionist i've ever heard of") just retired as the CIA's Chief of Covert Operations for Europe

He didn't realize this until the guy was interviewed on "Sixty Minutes"...

So, maybe the CIA needs a Logistics Guy...

BTW - this guy wrote a book, and mentions at least one incident that took place in the office:

The Social Security office involved had St. Elizabeth's (Mental) Hospital in Washington DC in their territory, so they would get lots of patient's from there coming in. One day, our intrepid receptionist told one he would have to wait (or something) and the patient took exception, lunged across the desk and started choking the receptionist.

General panic ensued. Another worker at the office picked up the phone and dialed for help, without response. She kept calling out: "Four-one-one doesn't answer!! Four-one-one doesn't answer!!"

The receptionist, still being choked, croaked out "Try Nine-one-one!!!"
