Hurricane season officially ends today.

Not that that really means anything.

I am sure T is in bed. That gives me 2 hours to post. However, my wife just said she needs the computer.

My family lived in Orlando for about 10 years so I know what you are talking about. No one has a black car and all cars must have tint or the dashboards will melt.

It was great in the winter but July was brutal.

The Army is funny that way, can't be out and about without headgear, even if it is the silly @ss beret....

Without a shirt I would scare the recruits. I have had a desk job for the last 8 years and it is beginning to show.

A hat is a must. Crew cuts and sun don't mix well. I sunburned my scalp once when I just graduated the academy I will never let that happen again. very painful.

Hats are definitely a must for those of us thinning on top also.

The Army knows what it is doing.

Funny thing was that when my sunburned skin pealed it looked like a piece of swiss cheese with all the holes in it that the hairs came through.

I was using Solarcain like hair spray to knumb the pain. The skin shrinks when burned so it felt like my head was in a vice.

When I first met my wife she owned a black 1975 Mustang II with black vinyl interior. That thing was brutal in the summer especially if you were wearing shorts.

When I was a kid in PA my mother had a 73 Gremlin with vinal seats. I used to get the pattern branded into my legs every summer.

Well, the temp dropped over 50 degrees in the last 24 hours... Yesterday was 80 degrees, then we had thunderstorms and rain all night... this morning the temp dropped below 30 degrees F. and the wet froze, and we started getting snow (not much - just enough to make it look pretty.)

i did park my car under the roof of the barn (outside the barn, but still roofed) as they said there might be hail to go along with the rain/freezing rain/sleet/snow... but as far as i know, we didn't get any hail.

Sounds like my department but they use Management by crisis.

I am sure you are familar with the saying that poor planning on your part does not constitue a crisis on mine?

I swear that a lobatomy is part of management training. My theory was that since they all had their offices on the same side of the building as the radio tower that the radiowaves were bouncing off the brass on their shoulders and frying their brains.

Know a John Carson from JPL in CA? Husband of one of my wife's bridesmaids.

I have only met a few JPL people in my time in the space program.

I looked up Niceguy's last name. I do not remember anyone by that name. However, I have a lousy memory when it comes to names. I can't always put a name with a face.

The next thread line down here in the War Room is one on the Iowa versus Yamamato. Maybe we should add the Bismarck
