Wow
Sort of Wargame (in fact simulation) became a game of the month at IGN?! Surprising!
I hope in near future, sequel or new product of my beloved matrixgames will earn that title too

Developer of the game actually replied to some of the questions at wargamer.com forum
He was very humble and gentle
And surprisingly (or not surprisingly since strategy first is now working with Valve), this and SE IV and SEV will be available from
Steam.
At 39.99 for dangerous water.
Good price to give it a try I think! Ur..well, how about my under played Silent Hunter III

Make sure you spend the extra to get the printed manual.. you won't regret it.

It seems like the Strategy First re-release has done Dangerous Waters a lot of good... I don't recall any "game of the month" awards when it was first released (and its no more different than you would expect a couple of patches down the line). Except maybe subsim, anyway

Not the case here of course, but I really hope Steam doesn't become any sort of standard for software releases. I have absolutely no intention of installing that garbage on my computer again. "I don't WANT to update ******* Steam, I just want to play my game!!"

I was really pissed with Steam and, more directly, it's implementation for Half Life 2.

I bought the game RETAIL, hoping to avoid the steam crap, and low and behold it didn't matter.

So anyways, I finished Half Life 2 and decided to sell it (it may have been worth a second play to some poeple - but not me....why could you not use the gravity gun to pick up the enemy until 3/4s of the way through the game....? You already had it for ages!)...but had to apologise to my Amazon buyer because I found out that in order to pass my game on, they would have to send the disk back to Half Life place (somewhere in USA) to have the account it was registered to deleted and re-registered to the new owners...and it was going to take "upto 6 weeks"! Who wants to be arsed with that!? So I'm stuck with a game I played. Oh well...but once bitten, twice shy!

It was a good game...but I will not allow steam to be my "registration" for the future.
