I modified the August 42 Scenario and beefed up Allied Air units. The strange thing is that once I hit Jan 43 the Pool quickly draws down to almost zero for all allied replacements, no matter how many Pilots I have put in the pool! Is there something I should be setting so this does not happen? I have redone the scenario twice and get the same occurance. Very puzzling?

Maybe you did hit the dreaded pilot bug (supposed to corrected in 1.7xx betas) that prevents more than 32000 pilots (or something like that) to *all* sides to be in game same time ? And it counts dead pilots too.

How does one confirm that 1. this is a bug? 2. That 32,000 is the number to avoid 3. and when will 1.7 be available? Thanks for your response BTW!

It's been confirmed that it's bug. It happens still under 1.6. It's supposed to be fixed in betas and in future 1.8 release. Someone on forum during earlier discussion said that it's 32000 or something like that. Game counts all pilots on all sides from start..and won't add new ones after that number has been reached.

Someone posted there is a "generic pilot" - a particular pilot slot - one can assign over and over again - and thus avoid the issue. Do you know about this?

There is room for a total of 30,000 pilots in the game.

Versions prior to 1.7x beta were not re-cycling some "dead" or unused (assigned in the editor but not used in the game) pilots, which caused the table to fill up.

Latest beta makes better use of incomming pilots, cleans up the table as it goes, and uses recycling of slots.
As this is still a beta, there may be changes to how this finally implemented.
