I just watched the Sabercats/Rush game and have some more questions for the indoor game.

1. Can players play both ways like in the indoor game?

2. Can you have a running clock like the indoor game?

3. I know the kicking game is alot different than that of most indoor leagues. Can we edit the penalty system in the database? Like a kick out of the endzone is brought out to the 5 in this game, but in most indoor leagues the ball is brought out to the 25 (midfield). So max-ftbl is rewarding a deep kick, where in real indoor leagues you are penalized for kicking to deep.

4. Are the walls out of bounds? If a player or ball touches the wall is the play dead?

5. Are their any animations of players going over the wall?

Lastly, Erik or Dave is it possible to get a movie of the indoor game.
Thanks for any response

1. I think I remember David stating once long ago that you could assign players to play both ways (when you create Formations in the Playbook editor perhaps?), but I'm not certain on this.

2. If there is no running clock rules, surely you could just set your games for 10 minute quarters with 20 or 30 second play clock rules. This would not be the same, but would be an adiquate substitute for Running Clock rules that many Indoor leagues use.

3. David did state earlier that Feildgoal kicks that miss in the Indoor game, will come out too the 5. Unfortunetly, Kickoffs that go out of bounds also are placed on the 5 yard line. Maybe in the future with a patch this could be edited to place the ball on the 20 or 25. That would really be nice.

4. I have no idea on this, but in the screen shots I have seen that there are indeeds Out of bounds lines on each side of the Indoor Feild. I would speculate that these lines work much like they do in the Outdoor game.

5. No idea, but is it really a nessessary?

I know about the AFL and the rule changes for this year that are directly related to your question(s) but I don't know how MF will handle indoor games.

Yes, I think the AFL switched to unlimited subbing this year. You where limited to one per position per QTR in the past I believe. I never quit understood the subbing rules.

The unlimited substitution is only for kickoffs. The reason for the strict substitution rules is forcing the two-way play which is a fundamental aspect of the AFL. They used to have the side lines out of bounds but they changed it to the walls being out of bounds. They also changed the placement of the ball from the 5 to the 20 or 25 if the kick off went over the nets. Clay Rush of the Colorado Crush kicked nearly half of his kickoffs over the nets thus eliminating any return. They also made some changes to the way the "Jack" LB plays.

Oh, okay I didnt know that the new subs rule was only for kickoffs, that makes more sense.
Yeah, I saw the new OOB rules. Now guys or ball can bounce off the wall, unless contacted by an opposing player.
Yeah, Rush was good, excellent at kicking around scoreboards.
Which one is the "JACK". The one that can or cannot rush? I always forget.

Jack jack doesn't rush, he stays in the box until the QB either hands off, passes or leaves the pocket.

People who want a "Jack" linebacker can require that all league defensive plays have a linebacker set up in the box with the "key on QB" logic.

Thats What I plan on doing. Having a defensive template that has the jack backer with a small zone area.

I remember long ago that a few people wanted to have actual Arena Rules in MF. I suppose David could have done it, but since the game is set up with Indoor Rules instead of Arena, the user could just add in rules like the "Box Rule" into there game if they so desired.

Personally, I've never been a big fan of the Box rules and such, but at least this game gives the user the options to do what he wants with the game. Forget EA Sports and othere companies that would do that.
