I live close to Columbus Ohio and was wondering who from Matrix (and its WitP players) plan on attending. Wouldn't mind hoping into Origins to meet some people.

If it's anything like last year, he'll pretty much set up camp there the whole time.

I met Mogami last year at Origins. What a character. He talked me into buying Crown of Glory. I spent about 2 hours looking at it that night after I installed it and haven't opened it since. WitP takes all my free time (after wife, kids, house and work, of course).

I will try to make it this year, or may be to a bar with everyone if someone can give me a ride home or a place to crash.

Hi, I love COG. One of these days we will have an online game between WITP players.

Hi, OK we need
Britian
France
Russia
Spain
Austria
Prussia
Sweden
Turkey

I would suggest that Britian, Prussia, Austria and Russia not be allowed to Ally with France
Sweden and Turkey are free agents
Spain begins a French Ally

Game is over if France surrenders
Game is over if Britain or Russia surrenders.

The best (I mean most skillfull) player should be France.

Game will meet on a established schedule and play 1 turn at least per meeting. Detailed battles (since that is heart of game)

Best computer + internet connection is host.

I'd like to be Russia or Spain.

If we are going to do Japanese versus Allied fan boys then team 1 is Britian, Prussia,Austria and Russia versus France, Spain, Sweden and Turkey game over if France Britian or Russia surrenders.

This has opened a wound only recently healed.

I liked the idea of CoG (been starving for a good Napolenics games for years), but then I saw battlereports of 200,000 turks in Germany beating an equal number of french there, or 150,000 french invading Scotland and killing 300,000 of 450,000 english militia so I dumped the game. I dont like sci-fi dressed in historical clothes. If only the historicality could be raised to a much higher level!

But diehardly waiting for Empire in Arms to come out.

Hi, I don't think that will happen in a non AI game. My largest battle was Russia versus Turkey almost 200,000 men per side. Loss result was 30k Turks and 10k Russians.
Year was 1809 (1792 start) I was playing Russia and had 3 Army HQ each with 2 Corps each with 5 to 6 Divisions. Battle was in Southern Russia. I do see the monster Armies and in long games it looks alot like WWI. But in a team game with all humans it should be more reasonable.
Quite often I play entire games where I never set foot outside of my own country (and still win the game) I just defeat all the invaders.

I like COG much more then EIA

well dammit......move Origins to the West coast and i might be able to manage it. I can tell you my old war stories about breaking into unauthorized areas of the USS Texas and being chased by the caretaker.

Wasn't there also a Fort parked up somewhere and you managed to SQUEEZE yourself into it when you shouldn't have?

In short. Aren't you a menace to society?

Yes....but fortunately the grounds are too huge for the one or two park rangers to be everywhere at once.... He did almost catch me trying to break into the motor pool bldg (see last pages of Worden thread) as it's near the parade/barracks area. There was a rickety partially collapsed wooden stairway that led up to a 2nd floor door which appeared unsecured. Was perched up there 3/4 of the way up when the ominous creeking sounds from the old wood made discretion become the better part of stupidity. So i climbed down....just in time too because the park ranger drove up because he needed to go into a locked room on the 1st floor. He didn't see me climbing but did chastise me for not having the YDA on a leash

You know, if you guys are all meeting in person, you should play a board game rather than a computer game. It'd be like the old days... arguing over rules interpretations...

Unfortunately for me, Origins always comes at my busy time of the year...

Eric, Russ, Mike... have fun. Hope you find some more suc.., er victims... er, compatriots to share the fun.
