I have to say that Hard Sarge, Harley, and the all of the other members of the Matrix programming team are really reaching (and that is a good thing), what I mean they are trying to set a new, higher standard in "sim-ology", as it were.
To me, the progress is fantastic, I have yet to see a game filled with this much Historical Detail, (which is the basis of any Sim). Though I only have time to play BTR once in a while, I think it is an amazing WWII Sim, and all of the additions I see posted every day/week tells me this is worth the extra time taken to complete this project.
I have followed the progress here for about two years now, and though some say "Only Doctors have Patients" (or is it patience?), either way, I myself can wait. Time is an ally here, thanks to "Hard Sarge & Crew" their indulgence and hard work on this project...

Hard Sarge:

What I mean as Air force commander / head staff officer(planning) you have to
monitor group moral and fatigue - the individual pilots are the concern of the squadron and group commanders. If a group is low on moral or high in fatigue they need a breather - deal them a 3 pass. If the moral is low due to horrific losses - then you have to build the confidence back with a few milk runs. That
is what I meant about not needing the know the individual pilots.

yes, but you also have Group Exp also, new replacement pilots with in reason, are not going to be as good as the real pilots, now all pilots do have a chance to learn and gain, but a Real Ace is still going to be better then a standard replacement

plus as the war goes on, the level of the Axis pilots are going to start dropping

ahhh
I not sure where it was asked about, so will post it here

I corrected/changed/added the Bf 109G-5/AS

it is a little better fighter at higher alts then the standard G-6, uses the DB 605AS engine, while the G-6 uses the DB 605A engine

has no Pak upgrade, and will be in the upgrade path of the G-10

it will be a better pure fighter, better fighter at Alt, but will be weak vs Bombers

Did you replace the G-5 with the G-5/AS or did you add the G-5/AS as a second G-5 model?

BTW, the G-5/AS should be way better than the standard G-5/6/14 at high alt, the DB605AS has a full throttle height of 7.8 km (static) compared to 5.8 km (static) of the standard DB 605A.

I replaced the G-5 with the G-5/AS

and yes, it has improved high Alt Performance

by the time BTR begins, I do not see the G-5 as being a major performer, other then in the Hohen Units with the AS model

The G-5 was just a G-6 with pressurized cockpit so nothing special in performance (unless boosted by GM-1 in the G-5/U2). But the G-5/AS might need a tune in availability date. AFAIR the AS-enginewas available as late as spring 1944 while the G-5 appeared earlier.

Grrrr, I mad at you :)

roger and your correct, got my units messed up

109G-5 added, close to a 109G-6, with a little improvement at Higher Alt

G-5 upgrades to the G5/AS in Jan 44 (in real life,III/JG1,I/JG5 upgraded in "beginning" of 44)

G-5/AS better High Alt performance

HoHen Units changed to the G-5

Production changed, G-5 in production, G-5/AS set to begin in 44, DB605AS replaced in production with DB605A

as the G5's in stock, would of been upgraded to AS standard, I am not going to change the 44 campaign data, as the G5/AS would already be in production and the changes to old models already made

ahhhh

okay, made some more changes to the engine types and what not

G-14 will use the DB 605AS (so depending on point of view, the G-10 and G-14 will be what most see as G-10/AS, G-14/AS)

the K-4/K-6 will use the DB 605D

(I don't think it is worth trying to make a G-10/G-14 and a G-10/AS/G-14/AS model as for the most part the job for the plane was the same, plus the numbering system started to just use pak/factory numbers for the upgrade to the engine)

one thing that is going to be odd (and I don't think we got time to try to block it out, right now) is the production system report, will show what is setup on delay (so, say, HARD_Sarge Werke is to come online in Jan 45 and be building 5 Bf 109G-16/HS, it will show 5 parts/engines being needed from day one, even though the factory will not be building or even be on the map for a long time, down the road, I will see if we can add a block to showing any of the factories with a delay for the reports)

I see several problems here.
There never was a G-10/AS although the DB605DB of the G-10 could be replaced by a late-war DB 605ASB (improved 605AS with more or less the same power as DB605DB used by G-10)

The successor of the G-6 was the G-14, the G-14 is basically a late-production G-6 with MW-50. The successor of the G-5/AS should be a G-14/AS or the G-10 (better stick to one of these two although both were built in large numbers (~1500 each but don't nail me on this)). Then there's the K-4.

It's really not easy to determine the proper upgrade paths with these many variants.

Roger, I have it using the same/close to same engine as the AS model (that why I didn't want to add in a G-10/AS model :)

Roger, the G-5/AS will upgrade to the G-14, what is odd is the G-14 came before the G-10 did

It's really not easy to determine the proper upgrade paths with these many variants.

even worse, trying to lock down who flew what and when, one pilot saying late in the war, there were alot of planes around, so if a plane was damaged, it was easier to just go to the park and pick up a new one, then to repair the old one, Pilot says there were 100s of of them just sitting around and as the QMs didn't care any more, would say, take what you want, G-10, G-14, K-4, what ever the pilot felt like flying back to base

I'm a little confused: The high alt G-5/AS should upgrade to a medium alt G-14 ? Or is your G-14 the G-14/AS?

BTW the G-10 was already assigned for a G-series airframe with the new DB605D engine. Somewhat later there was a suggestion to give the G-6/W or G-6/MW (internally used by Mtt for G-6 with MW-50) a new model number instead of confusing it with the older non-MW G-6. As the G-12 was already assigned to the dual-seat trainer and an even number had to be chosen for non-pressurized variants the G-14 was assigned. The G-10 was very late on shedule because of problems with the new engine so the G-14 appeared some (two?) months earlier than the G-10.

And if someone asks: The G-10 was not made of old overhauled/repaired G-series airframes but was an new-built aircraft. That's a common myth because the initial production run used airframes originally assigned to G-6/G-14 production but diverted to the G-10.

the G-14 would be more the AS model, as it uses those stats and engine

I'm sure this has been covered before, but with the extended release date -- lets say the next few too many months -- are there going to be improved cut scenes, graphics, bombing detail, or is the premise just re-doing what's been done before with new AI -- I'd be interested to know if it's graphically improved -- with eye candy -- just curious -- can't wait for the release!

You are not alone in waiting for this games release, I just hope this and WITP AE version do not come out at the same time.  If that happens I will not know which to get stared on first.

not sure what you are hopeing for, or wishing for, overall, I think it would be best to try and look over the AAR type posts and see the screens and map and what is going on, to get a better idea of what it is going to look like
