Fret not. Radar just causes planes to take off and get massacred by Corsairs. Far better off to stay on the ground where you have a chance.

Does it apply to games started under 1.801 too?

Yep... Apparently Matrix doesn't think this should be fixed, even though it's WRONG on so many and varied levels...

I still dont get it. Even though I start a new game under 1.801 the Type 13 eadar wont work?

You have to reset the "Pentration" value of the radar in the database. I forget which is which, but it's something like:

1-Surface Radar looking for Aircraft
2-Surface Radar looking for Ships

For Type 13 (or whichever the air radar is), it's set to 2 or whatever.

Open up the DB editor for Scen 15.
Go to the "Devices" tab.
Scroll down until you find "Type 13" radar.
Change the penetration value to whatever you see in CXAM radar (make them the same).
Save.
Start new game.

Only wrinkle is that it might not let you save as Scen 15 (since it's the official scenario). You might need to save as 115 or whatever.

Nice. Well I play with PDU on as IJN so it gives me already a HUGE advantage, so I will change it in a 'full historical' campaign. THX for the info.

Mike Wood put a button way back in 1.6 that would update the devices in a game from the scenario file. Have no idea if it would work for this situation, but that's the basic concept of what would be needed.

I also now add the Type 13 radar fix to all scenarios that I convert for my map.
