ORIGINAL: Hard Sarge has anyone seen the work that Marshall has done ? I think he is doing a very good job I agree. This has never struck me as having been an easy project, particularly when you consider the rough start. This whole business of "porting" cardboard-and-paper wargames to the computer looks to be a lot more complicated than some of us seemed to think. Some things that work well in one medium just don't work at all in the other. For example, "Igo-Yugo" has always been pretty much the approach in board wargames, but "Orders Then Wego" has become the standard for the computer. That one difference alone changes just about everything from the original. Accommodating PBEM creates more headaches. I note Marshall's comment about changes to the system made necessary by this consideration. So, I look forward to the finished product, not expecting that it will be exactly like EiA. I don't see how it could be in any event. I hope that Matrix does not give up on these projects, but rather, applies the hard-learned lessons from the ones that have been undertaken. There are a lot of titles I would like to see redone.
