Status: offline 		Ice used in the bar must be clean, fresh and free of any flavor. If tap water produces cloudy ice, try using bottled or distilled water.

Cracked ice: Wrap ice cubes in a clean tea towel and place it on a firm surface. Hit it with a wooden mallet until the ice has broken into small pieces.

Crushed ice is broken more finely than cracked ice.

Then they call back an hr. later and say..."oh never mind, it's a false positive"

I will let you deduce who narrowly escaped the guy in the oversized black cape. Still, I not sure I get why they call before the confirmation. As a hedge, I have ordered a 360 degree search of all available recon aircraft (I ordered the ATT Family Spy GPS locator service for $10 a month). It works too. You can spy on your kids with a resolution of 10 meters or so It links to a map or overhead pictures (not live of course). Of course as soon as they "go dark" and turn off their phone you will have to fall back on lookouts and human intel.

10 meter resolution?? Well, i suppose it might be useful if they are out joy-riding in a semi...

"Is this propitious? Let's see, when Roman soldiers saw an owl fly over them it was a good thing or a bad thing? And this one is not doing any more flying. Oh well. I don't believe in that silly mumbo-jumbo anyway."

So I go inside and open up my WITP turn.

Status: offline 		Musashi and Yamato team up on two prewar US BB's. A protest has been lodged under the Naval Treaty of 1925.



Phil has pulled the old Jimmy-leg trick. His cruiser force returned to Paramashiro Jima but he followed it up with a BB force out of the unscouted North Pacific. I felt safe to send the old BB's back for more shore pounding. Too bad Halsey retired for fuel. That could have been a major coup had he been on station.

The Slasher who is the burly guy in the shot (who, oddly enough did not have the rising sun on his chest in the original) repeatedly thrashed Daffy until Porky (as Watson, of course) would come in and sort things out in a gentlemanly fashion. In the present case, however, It appears to be ol' Shropeshire that is getting thrashed.

Somehow, i doubt even the USN would put a six-year-old in charge of a CV group (the current John McCain was born Aug 29, 1936)... however, the Senator is John McCain III, and both his dad and granddad were 4-star admirals on retirement... i am guessing this was his granddad.

EDIT: The juxtaposition of Bush and Dashiell is nice, but i think there are a couple or more of other current politicians (less famous) also in the list of DDs.

REEDIT: It turns out it was apparently his granddad - Adm. John "Slew" McCain, who led USN CV TFs during WW2... born 1884 and died just after Japan's surrender ceremony at age 61. His son (the Senator's father) a submariner during WW2, also was (eventually) a 4-star admiral, and they they became the first father-son pair ever to achieve four star admiral rank in the U.S. Navy.
