Hi. I've read that there is going to be a patch soon. I've done a search in this forum to see what will that patch included...

all I found was a multi-lingual thread, which is funny as hell () but not really informative about the issue in question

so, can someone tell me something about the incoming patch?

thanks a lot in advance.

Sure.  It will be numbered 1.8something.  Unless its numbered 1.9.  Anything else?

LOL ok, I thought there was some official word on what does the patch fix/include

(hope they somehow solve the offsync problem, giving me fits in my PBEM games)

There is never any official word about patches until they arrive.  As a developer for another company puts it in his sig, "A patch is never late! Nor is it ever early. It arrives precisely when I mean it to do!"

The next patch will be numbered 1.8.0.2.

It currently contains 70 items.

It does not include the PBEM sync issue. Please do not bother requesting that this, or any other item, be added to the patch. Some items did not make the cut for various reasons.

The patch is in beta test.

Don,

Sorry, not at this time. I can tell you that this is primarily a bug-fix release. There are a few "trip-over" enhancements and some improvments here and there, but no major enhancements. If you had a pencil and a lot of patience you could dig most of the changes out of the bug reports on the support forum.

Two small enhancements have aready been pre-announced to allow modders advance time - changes in editor TF split and four extra aircraft icons. Neither of these affect existing games or stock scenarios - just for modders (and me!).

70 items????? Over two years since release?????

A big thank you to Don and {Jwilkerson is it?} for your hard work and making this the best supported game I've ever heard of. This is one of those games that will be played until the computers that run have advanced so far that they {the computers} can't handle it.

Hi,

Any news about 1.802? Any possibility to play a new game with that patch by August?

Thanks,

Emilio.

I wish people would get it through their skulls that Matrix never ever says "we're going to release this on that date". It's been said SO MANY TIMES that the line is "we release when it's ready"...

I was just guessing the quotation  I'll probably find out that there is a new patch few weeks after its arrival anyways

IIRC the quotation kind of evolved during a "where is the patch?" discussion at another company's forum.  The head programmer there liked it so much he made it part of his sig.

Did I hear somebody say that a patch was coming? When? When will it be released?

I'm kidding! I'M KIDDING!! Don't send any mail bombs to my house!

With all seriousness, though, you guys rock with the support you give this game!

Too late, I'm afraid that automatic counter- and retaliatory- measures were launched the instant you hit the "OK" button. I'd say its been nice knowing you, but you haven't posted enough for me to know you. So, bye.
