Status: offline 		The word from DonG, aka UncleHarpoon, is that the WestPac beta patch should not be distributed.

Tony's commentary:  It is a beta, and outdated at that, with the release of HCE arriving 'soon', spreading around older betas isn't looked upon too kindly. imho Reasonable, even if the WestPac beta is cool and a nice jump over HC Gold.

Status: offline 		Not a problem - That's why I didn't just send him the file. Anyway the file I found woiuldn't have helped him. Didn't run when I installed it to make sure it was ok.

Beta 19 eh - Looks like a birthday present for me (Late May) All I want is a good program that works. Course a mission plan tool would be nice to but ...................

My new prediction is that HCE will not be released by March 12, 2007

I'm feeling smug and self important right now & just daring the production team to knock me off my pedestal!

Status: offline 		I am really looking forward to this game, but I notice that Matrix doesn't even have it in the "Coming Soon" or "In Development" categories. Games often are a year away even after they reach those categories. Does anyone have any comment on this ?

Other than the forum, the only reference I can find to HCCE on the Matrix website is a picture of the box in the sidebar, if you go to the description of Harpoon 3,

I cannot speak for Matrix (publisher) but I do see each build as it comes out from AGSI (developer). Some very welcome news is that we've had two builds in two weeks, if Fletcher (programmer) can possibly keep up that pace, the release will be quite soon ('gold' code end of March maybe possibly, let's hope). Even without the current pace continuing, it will not be yet another year until release.
There seem to be only a couple of really annoying bugs left, there will be things to improve after release, but then aren't there always. The game plays well now, doesn't crash and leave you mad, etc. Fletcher in beta 20 took care of what will hopefully be the last crash bug before release.

Status: offline 		The builds keep coming, just no release yet, one of the big hurdles, getting new scenarios into the WestPac battleset has been conquered.  I think the main delay now is waiting for the recompiled instruction manual to arrive (but I could be wrong).  A few of us are working at getting a bunch of new platform photos in place, a very time consuming process, but a distraction as we await each new build  (that'd be us discussing which of the multiple photos provided by Darren Buckley to use for each platform).

Status: offline 		There is a target date yes, I guess only Matrix gets to announce dates and I'm not with Matrix.  A target date is just a guess but it should be a pretty good guess.  Perhaps a bit of trivia, on what date did Germany finally control all of Crete?

Even nuttier, two of my scenarios will be in the WestPac battleset!
