Newbie looking for somebody to take the Japanese Empire.
I can try for one turn in each day, can only guarantee each other day. On weekends might play more turns. Timezone is GMT+0200.

Version:1.801
Scen: 15 stock
Map:stock

House rules

Allies cannot move any planes on turn 1
Allies cannot form any new TF on turn 1
Before invading Russia Japan needs to activate it at least 30 days before the invasion.
No sub invasions
No invasions at nonbase or non dot hexes
Limitation to the number of planes in each AF: overstacking isn't allowed when exceeding the 100*level base ( so AF 5, MAX

500 planes allowed)
Minimum bomber height 10000'
No massive PT boat assemblages
On first turn Japanese TF's can not move within 4 hexes of allied bases unless it is historical target or within 4 hexes of

Japanese base.
All first turn landings need to be in range of long range cap of his fighters.
Only 2e bombergroups of size 16-48 can be converted to 4e bombers
No strategic bombing in or from China.
No disbanding of patrol, floatplane, etc to give them to fighter formations
No cutting off retreat paths with a fragment, use a whole COMBAT unit.
No breakdown of LCU's in combat to reduce fatigue and disruption.
No Shock Attack + Pursue in terrain with only a path which is wooded, swamp or mountainous.
LCU's belonging to the Kwangtung command may not leave Manchuria unless PP's are spent to change their command.
LCU's belonging to China Command may not leave China or Manchuria, unless they change command.

Three options for China:
No war, no fighting in China anykind.
Air war, only fighting in air
Rail war, only fighting in hexes adjecent to rail hex.

These house rules should be followed to the spirit, rather than to the letter.

Any other house rule can be discussed

Realism:

Allied Sub Doc - on
Japanese Sub Doc - on OR off
Fog of War - on
Advanced Weather - on
Allied Damage Control - "on
Historical First Turn - on OR off
PDU - on OR off
Variable Setup - if historical first turn, then off OR on else off
December 7th Surprise - on
Reinforcements - any setting

One day turns

I might do a AAR, depends on how much time I will have on

Now if I have forgotten something, please tell.
Any questions?

EDIT Fixed typos

You might want to set a time frame for this, because the Allies did do strategic bombing in 1944 from China, which caused the Japanese advances.

I think that you haven't written what you really mean to say here.

Allied Sub Doc - on

If you are playing the Allies, you really, really, REALLY don't want to have Allied Sub Doc set to "on"...

Variable Setup - if historical first turn, then off OR on else off

IIRC, "Variable Setup" works in games against the AI, not in PBEM, but I could be wrong. (You wouldn't want your CVs suddenly sitting a couple of hexes from the KB on December 7! )

Good luck, and have fun!

Hmmm, must think this some more, because this must be linked with the China war option.

I try to limit the number of 4e bombers if PDU is on. If the common limit of no 2e bomber shall be converted to 4e bomber is in effect, Allied player will end up with less 4e bombers than stock scenario. Now if those 2e bomber groups whose size is 16 or 48 are only eligible for upgrade to 4e bombers.

Why is that? As I undestand it, it makes Allied subs chickens until 43 and during that time they attack less often and are attacked less often. Now that I think about it, Dutch and other those subs with good torpedos will be less aggressive too. Hmmm...

I figured that historical first turn is not used that often. So I thought that giving some incentive to choose it. That being I think 25% chance to bag some carriers. On the other hand, it could backfire (no surprise). One more reason is that it might distributes American forces and make the 100% first turn recon.

Without historical first turn I would not play with Variable setup.

Thank you for the advice. I'm hoping for a good journey, it's not the destination that counts.
