I'm not gloating or anything, but I always exit out of any background virus scans ( I have McAfee) BEFORE starting pure Sim.

The last few PS patches have run flawlessly for me ( crossing fingers & knocking on wood).

What causing these crashes for other guys? Video-card issues, perhaps?

I have had no crashes either, and do not activate Norton or ZoneAlarm Pro before playing a game. Since one who does and one who does not deactivate reports no problems, the issue must be related to something else.

Yes you are

I am running PS on my notebook. Not much frills here. I havnt had any PS crash issues till 1.26/1.27.

Are you "no crashers" running with the standard XML? Mine is edited.

Ive never had a crash yet either (searches around for some wood to knock on), but I dont think Ive actually played out an entire game yet. All of my time has been spent editing ballparks and simming seasons. I was using the deadball.xml, but Im pretty sure Im using a default one now (does the xml file get overwritten with a new one during patching, like the lahman db does ?)

The 1.26 beta patch introduced a crash bug (hey, that's why its a beta!) if you were not saving all game logs. Fixed in the latest 1.28 patch.
