Well I downloaded the latest patch today and have tried to play two different games which both caused CTD after playing for a while. The first game I no longer have saved, but I have the second saved and am unable to advance to the next turn without a CTD near the end of turn resolution every time I end turn. Let me know who to send the save files to.
Jim
P.S. I did a completely new install today and then patched up with the new patch.

Actually, they typically ask that you zip up the save files and then attach it to a message here. If you use the "post reply" button and not just the quick reply box at the bottom, you'll see a "Click here to upload" comment right below the text box. Use that to attach the file.
I have also had the same CTD problem with two games in a row. *Sigh*
You've got to be kidding me...anyone else (besides JD Burns and I)?
Edit: If relevent - running a game saved from 1.2.18 beta patch. It was my understanding that the patches were compatible, but will test a new game as well.

NOPE - just played a brand-spankin' new game, as Sweden. My game crashes every April 1806, right after Austria surrenders to France and Spain. CTD...

They only support Gif/Txt/Jpeg files, I can't upload the zip.
I just opened my save, it's April 1793, so apparently it's related to seasonal events occurring in April perhaps? Jim
Yes it seems so...I tried playing the 1805, 1796, and 1820 campaigns, as different Nations (France, Prussia, Russia, Sweden), and each time I reached the first April month, the game crashed.
Needless to say, Eric and Co, please investigate ASAP.
Only just started this game and only done 1 turn - however on exit i just get a back screen and can't access windows at all so i have to press the reset button - its done this all 3 games i started when i tried to exit

I just added zip upload support to this forum. We'll try to duplicate this ASAP. In the meantime, please upload your save files here as it will help us to see what's going on in each of your cases.

I'm having problems unzipping the files. PkUnzip and the zip built into Windows both say "unknown compression method." Did you compress these with the zip built into XP? If not, maybe you could try that.
I just played as Sweden in the 1792 campaign and in my game I did not get a CTD by May of 1793, so a save game with a repeatable CTD would be very helpful.

Is anyone else experiencing this? It's probably related to the change I made to the DirectX code. Are you running the most recent version of DirectX?

I created a new zip using normal compression, the default compression setting was not set to normal sorry about that. If this doesn't work, send me your email and I'll email the files direct to you. Send them to jamesburns@SPAMGUARDcharter.net (remove SPAMGUARD).
Try this:

P.S. checked dxdiag and my dirextX version is 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904).

is everybody sure the patch is going where they think it is ?
I do not think so, my tests show I was still running a beta patch after installing the new release patch
Yep, first thing I checked. My game shows 1.2.25 on the load screen.
If it's any help, my system is an Intel P4 2.53 GHz, NVIDIA 7800 GS 256MB video card, SoundBlaster audigy 4 sound card. I'm running WinXP Pro and full Norton antivirus and firewalls.
I've never had this game crash before until installing this patch.

Guys, I have been playing with the installer, it does not seem to be installing the patch
try to install the patch again, when it get to the place to put it (C:Matrixgames\CrownofGlory)
add \patch
then it will install it to a new folder named patch, then open the folder, copy the inside and paste it in the correct folder, and it should be good to go
Thanks again Jim for the save game. I was able to reproduce the crash with it under the debugger. It does seem to be a problem related to the April levee: the actual crash was caused by the game trying to build a unit of type zero and I may have found something in the new levee code that can, under the right circumstances, issue an order to build a zero-unit.
I've fixed the thing that was capable of causing the bad order and hopefully have made it so that bad orders (if they do get issued somehow) will simply cause nothing to happen. Once I get everything rebuilt I'll upload the new build to the COG beta testers. If you'd like, I'll e-mail you a copy as well. If everything checks out OK, maybe we can have a new official patch by early next week.

ORIGINAL: Russian Guard Sure, be happy to check it out - please send to ds.ammerman@ gmail.com (No space after the @ of course)
Just got bounce-back from this e-mail address. (I remembered to take out the space.) Do you have another address, or is it possible there's a typo in this?

Hmmm...email is correct and I tested it. Did you remember the "dot" after ds? In any event, please retry, and cc this one: lwea34@ yahoo.com (no spaces). Thanks much.
