Hi,
I managed to see in the couple last turns, that my PT get some nice torpedo hits (not that I don't like it) but this is a bit strange since I've read in a number(small but still) of books that these little nasty boats were not having normal torpedo tubes but were equipped with "racks" system of torpedo launcher which was just useless. Are you having the same (nice for the player but not too realistic)"problem"

well, PTs can be dangerous.

Most of the time they aren't but if you get bad dice roll than everything is possible. Apart from the dice roll experience of the PT boat is important so if someone manage to get his PTs to 60 or more they are extremely dangerous....

not too realistic but this is how is designed - and we have to live with that

From what i've read, at least later in the war, they (US PTs) used the air-launched torps. The tubes are to get the torps moving up to speed, however, the PTs were able to do 30-40 kts. - and by just shoving the torps over the side, they would probably be moving faster than if shot out a tube.

The tubes on a surface ship had the advantage that the torps could be fired at a direction different from that of the ship, good for a DD, but with a maneuverable PT that wasn't a terrible disadvantage.

The original PT boats had torpedo tubes which launched the torpedo out with compressed air, later the aerial torpedos were fitted with roll off mounts thus saving weight for more guns.
