We have 4 cats. The cats value their life too much to enter the war room. If the door happens to be open, they'll stand at the entrance and look in. The only time the door's open is if I'm going in or out.

I remember as a high schooler watching my stupid cat try to walk across my Victory Games CW map that was perched on the wall around my stairwell. In a great scrabble of claws, yowls, counters and cardboard, they all disappeared downstairs....followed immediately by mad scrabbling across the linoleum in the kitchen. Stupid cat.


Never walked on a map again though.

I have so many old games in the war room closet that I can fund any game that comes out that I'd like. Things are really over-priced on Ebay.

The cat ended my practice of leaving chess positions set up. Cardboard counters - no chance!

Using an extended index digit you move the required counter from it's current location, we shall call this location A, to it's desired location, for the sake of argument lets call this location B. This behaviour is mostly commonly termed "Pushing Cardboard".

On arrival at location B it is customary to role a small plastic cube called a die. This is a form of RNG from the days of powdered milk and ricketts.

It's usually about this time you sneeze and spend the next ten minutes hunting for the 2nd Pz Div under the couch.

I am green with envy.

My copy got ruined by water damage about 20 or so years ago. Never really played it (couldn't find an opponent) but looked at the maps and counters and read the rules.

Or as at like at my old gaming buddy's house..he had a cat that would get in the game room sometimes (when he was too gassed to remember to close the door all the way)and it was like Godzilla goin thru Tokyo ........ not to bad till the time we had the campaign game from that AH monstrosity of a classic The Longest Day set up and about 4 or 5 all nighter seesions into it !

Growing up I had a dog that cleared off many a board. The first time I recall hearing my step-father curse up a blue straek was after we spent a good two hours setting up some Kursk pocket game only to have the board cleared by a breeze through an open window (No AC growing up).

On one of the other Matrix boards this was called "The hand of god" not to be confused with "The paw of cat". Both had the same effect.

Looks like a great game.

British CV units. Top left number is standard air unit capacity, below and right of the air symbol is maximum capacity (if any). The two numbers on top right are armor value and speed class. The two numbers below that are high and low AA values. The white dots on bottom right are the anti-torpedo rating (1-6 possible)

The top left number of the transport units is their transport capacity.

Japanese CV units. The top left number for the surface combat ships is their surface combat factor. Their top middle number is the range of their guns.

Sample land combat units. Bottom left number is troop quality. Bottom middle number is their AA value. Bottom right is the number of steps in the unit. A step equals roughly 1 battalion.

The unit nationalities displayed from top left are Australian, Burmese, Malayan, New Zealand, African and Dutch.

A couple of former friends had a house rule.  No die roll was official until the cat had swatted the dice around first.
