I have 2 AS's based at Eniwetok. I base my subs there also. When I bring a sub back for a refill I often find that the torpedos have not been replaced nessesetating a return to Pearl. Do the tenders have to replenish from time to time or do they have to be in a docked replenisment task force?
thanks

According to the manual:

Subs may only reload torpedoes when in the he with a size 8, 9, or 10 port with sufficient supplies or in a hex with an AS ship and a base with sufficient supplies....... ASs must have no fire or float damage and less than 50% system damage, and have op points remaining for the function to be allowed.

I'd check all the criteria to see if you meet it. I suspect you're lacking somewhere.

The port must be at least size 1 so you're good there.

Remember the term "SUFFICIENT SUPPLIES". That's most likely the problem.

I seem to remember the term sufficient supplies means greater than twice the supplies required by the base, i.e. not in the orange. I would have to check this though.

"Sufficient supply" tends to get overused.
Sometimes it means more than the base needs, other times twice the base needs, and sometimes just more than 20k.

Yes, obviously the most obscure of the conditions. One thing I will ask though, wouldn't it be true that you would have to re-fuel or re-supply the boat in order to get the ops points back up after a loading onto a sub (such that it wouldn't re-supply torps to more than one sub at a time)? I don't know much about ops points, but it appears to me that ships will lose the majority of their points just sitting in dock doing nothing after one day.

I'm under the impression that anything that needs that large a port without aid of any additional unit, is the ones that require the 20,000 supply. Getting double the base supply requirements would be far too easy.

Probably does not cost an AS very many op points to replenish one sub. It is probably determined by the number of torps the sub requires. I would guess that one AS could rearm 4-8 subs in a day.

Won't an AS replenish a sub automatically if they begin the turn together and all other conditions are met? If so the discussion is over whether it gets replenished today or tomorrow. For me it is all the same. Everything logistical happens too quickly in the game anyway.

It costs an AS 100 op points to reload torpedoes on a sub - at least that is what I have seen in my games. So theorectically an AS can reload 10 subs per turn.

I was generalising...The phrase "Sufficient supply" is used often in various parts of the manual when talking about supply needs for things. It could have any of the three conditions listed.

Also, if you are playing older version: i think that AS must be same nationality as submarine to rearm her.

Okay, but I think my guess is correct there.

Perhaps that was a sub with 10 torps missing? The way you say that gives me the impression that it is 100 op points irrespective of how many or few torps the sub has used, since naturally you weren't always re-supplying the same type of sub nor the same amount of torps.
