HARD to tell unless I am stopping after each attack

over all, the game knows if pilots are in the planes and the planes are ready to take off and are caught on the ground, or if they are damaged planes that do not have pilots in them

so, there is a chance for planes lost on the ground to lose there pilots, but there is also a chance that pilots will not be lost

also, the SAS bug is no more, so no more lost planes and pilots days after a attack

I'll go for 7 - but both the 7 and the 5 had blisters (it's not a 5 though)

It's Ivan Kozhedubh's 7, but in the possibly more accurate 2-tone scheme than the single-tone white that it is often pained as. See http://vvs.hobbyvista.com/Markings/Kozhedubs_White27/index.php

I also saw video on the Military Channel of a version of his La-7 in green/olive painting.

Not that I need another diversion but . . .

Golden Bear, how about a few pointers on getting into building these models. Maybe you could suggest a project suitable for a complete novice to get his feet wet. Maybe recommend websites, brandnames etc etc

You asked for it... www.cardmodels.net/forum/ is where we hang out. If you poke around you'll see lots of good stuff in there including several build threads by me. The Gallery has lots of model pictures to get you excited. There are many beginners there and we encourage anybody who wants to try it. Help is easy to find if you ask for it around that site.

There are hundreds of available model kits and many of them are available as downloads that you print out yourself. I learned originally by building a small lightship and then progressed from there. I would recommend some of the 1:48 scale downloads from www.teuton.org/dbarnett/ or some of the 1:50 Wilhelmshaven models if you want to start on airplanes right away. You'll need some cardstock (I recommend 60# Wausau from Staples/Office Depot) a bunch of #11 blades (I recommend Excel rather than Exacto) and some glue... I use Duco cement but most folks use the more traditional white glue. Get a few dowels for rolling and you're set to go!

If you want more info, put a post or a PM into the cardmodels forum to me... I'm Golden Bear on that site also.

There's also some freebie models at www.modele-kartonowe.com. The RWD-25 shouldn't be too hard except that you'll need to make engine cylinders.

I really do recommend getting involved at the Card Modelling forums for an introduction, advice and support. Good luck!

I know we've gone quiet over here lately, but you'd be amazed at what we have acheived in the last week alone. You will not recognize this game when it's done.

The team - We have a name for ourselves now, but I don't want to spoil anything - have really gotten stuck into it in the last fortnight. I know I've gottem more done in the last 2 weeks than the last 2 months...

It's great to hear news like that Harley. I think this game has wonderful potential to be a bigger hit the second time around. I'm confident all the invested talent and time will pay off big time.

...and yet another. I'm gradually trying to fill in the major types of planes that I know from BTR. Unfortunately there is not yet a good kit for the P51-B, so the Mustang III will have to cover for now. Another problem is finding a kit for the Me 410 but I have a decent one in a smaller scale that I'll get around to. Right now I've started on a He-51, which doesn't fit in with the BTR collection.

There are lots of decent kits of Bfs, however.

Keep up the good work! I'm interested guys are you using same "engine" for pilot pool like WiTP? (i assume it is very similar). As you may know, due to big losses during war (in WiTP) all available slots can be "filled" (about 30 K?) and this causes annoying glitch where alive pilots starts to missing from their group...

For example... one Jap airgroup sitting in the middle of nowhere (in some rear base, beyond war area) have 36 pilots and planes, but next day have only 16 pilots left. The missing pilots are - i guess - lost forever.

thanks in advance!

Well, the engine is are older model I would say, we have 50,000 pilot slots

this game will start to over write dead pilots if it needs more slots, we looking at trying to make sure it works the way it was planned and work with the dead pilots with out kills first :)

If you like the Mustang, it is one of a number of diecast models available from Eagles International http://www.onmarkint.com/eagles/

They are very good quality. I believe they are developed from kits made by someone almost as good as Carlos.

Hopefully I will be forgiven for continuing to clutter up this space with pictures like this. I haven't heard anyone say "no" yet...

BTW, the canopies on the previous two models were custom vacuum formed by me. Handy for bubble canopies.
