Reports from Java Island, Dec 20th 1941:

Dec 8th 1941: AV 412, Supplies 34.539
Dec 13rd 1941: AV 520, Supplies 38.497, 312 aircrafts
Dec 20th 1941: AV 734, Supplies 52.851, 325 aircrafts (with 19 B-17 detachment at Singapore awaiting for transit to Soebaraja after Saigon bombing mission).

Awaited AV at Batavia :
Dec 21st 1941 : 61 AV
Dec 22nd 1941: 157 AV
Dec 23rd 1941: 56 AV

Dec 23rd, 1941 total AV strength at Java Island: 1.008 (232 plus over our forescast to december end).

We´ll be gathering all our construction efforts on Soebaraja port to level up 9 to get a port with mine supply (now 8 +7%).

We are thinking about our air strategy on Java air-naval defense:
1st attack wave (all bomber with best range -B-17 and Hudsons-) with naval attack mission at 6 hex (the maximum for our escort fighters Buffalo I, P-35 and CW-21)

2nd attack wave (bombers and torpedo-bombers with medium range) -B-18, Blenheim and Swordfish- (all with naval attack and 4 hexes maximum range). The bombers will fly at 15.000 feets and Swordfish at 4.000 feet with fighters escorting at 18.000 feets (P-40).

3rd attack wave (torpedo bombers with short range) -Vildebeest-, with maximum range at 2 hexes.

When near beaches the japs will encounter our mines and PT´s flotillas to disturb their jobs. We are planning to mayor minelaying at several bases (kragen-batavia-soebaraja)

1st bombing mission over enemy skies from B-17:

13 B-17D from 93rd bombing sqdn. have flying over saigon sky in city attack mission (resources center targeted) when were been awaited by 13 A6M2 Zero that downed 1 flying fortress vs. 1 Zero downed. In the bombing mission another one B-17D was down by Flak. In the combat report we can see 4 hits over resource centers but our recon show 7 hits. I think this is a very good outcome.

After mission 12 B-17 have been transfered to Palembang for rest, with another 4 damage Flying Fortress at Singapore. When ready and rested the 93rd will select another oportunity target to attack and commit japanese player to reinforce his air defense.

Phillipines Island situation report, dec 20th 1941:

Bataan : AV 442, Supplies 19.872, Fortif. 3 (+52%)
Clark : AV 683, Supplies 16.846, Fortif. 4 (+27%)
Manila: AV 523, Supplies 28.788, Fortif. 1 (+17%)
Tuguegarao: Supplies 300
Naga: Supplies 1607
Legaspi: Supplies 184

Total AV at Luzon island, dec 20th: 1.648 Assaut Value Strenght
Total Supplies at Luzon I.: 67.597

At dec 12nd we had 55.791 supplies at Luzon, and supplies stocked at Luzon were at 61.493 tonnes. Now we have 67.597 tonnes of supplies (increase 21% over initial stocks), I only lost 3 AK´s in these shippings, but we get it about 12.000 more valuable tons of supplies.

For the other hand our positions at Luzon have been reinforced, now we have 1.684 AV vs. 1.524 at Dec 17th. The Bataan, Clark and Manila forts have been expanded, and we expect level 4 at Bataan in 8 days about, (Manila would need about 41 days to increase forts at level 2, and Clark will need about one month to increase at level 5). I think we will have time to increase our Luzon defenses.

After our submarine recon activities in the Marshalls island and naval searches from Baker and Canton with PBY, we can confirm the scarce japanese activity in the Gilberts area, and I think could be interesting to send a force to Tarawa after crush the Maloelap air base with USNavy carriers. This operation has been named like "Hammer I"

TF Saratoga, TF Enterprise, TF Lexington with 3 CVs, 10 CAs and 19 DDs will departure Dec 21st from Palmyra island with replenishment support from AO Neosho, and heading on at cruise speed until dec 24th, then the carrier forces will sprint to X-Point 1 to launch air strikes over Maloelap air base, running fast to arrive to X-Point 2 to launch strikes over Jaluit and finally will arrive to Tarawa to cover the landing of USMC forces from transport TF (Dec 27th estimated time of arrival for 2nd USMC Defense Bn, and 28th ETA for 117th USN Base Force).

If CV would been spotted before X Point arrival "Hammer I " will be suspended.

If like I suspect the japanese player has not strong air or naval forces in the area, this operation would be continued by "Hammer II" . PBY Catalinas spotted few days ago RO type submarine in the south Marshalls area.

DEC 22nd 1941, Marshalls Islands Report:

Submarine patrols from SS Plunger, SS Dolphin, SS Thresher, SS Pompano, SS Pollack, SS Trout and SS Triton are been trying to locate naval japanese activity before "Hammer-I" K-Day (Dec 25th).
USS Lexington, USS Saratoga and USS Enterprise has been departured from Palmyra Island with their escorts at dec 22nd.
Only one japanese submarine has been spotted at Baker island, probably trying to increase DL at this point with seaplanes and AVD tender. I sent the Coronado PBY sqdn from Pearl to Baker Island to reinforce my searching capabilities at South Marshalls area.

Regarding air action on 26 DEC 41,

Looks like some heavy-duty air action! Is there going to be a graphic Sit-Rep?

Fishbed and Big-B thank you for comments !. Here I begin with screenshots from this critical day in the begining of the war.

After a massive assault on Changsha airfield to crash the AVG group, the damage on the airfield service damage increase at 43% and the damage on airfield runway at 15%. We lost 13 Curtiss downing in the Changsha skies and 9 more on airfield. The IJAA lost 12 A6M2 Zeros, 1 G3M Nell, 2 Betties and 2 Babs.
The initiative in China skies are in the japanese hands !.

The Kido Butai surprise attack on Wake maritime links !
The Kido Butai with CV Soryu, CV Hiryu, CV Shokaku and CV Zuikaku appears at Wake northeast waters to attack our maritime traffic, sinking the MSW Penguin, DD Schley and DD Ward (both FD´s), DM Breeze , AK Artik (with 804 EAB aboard), and PT-47 & PT-48.
In the picture we can see the damage in the 804 EAB transport TF.
I have decide to scatter the remaining ships in all directions to avoid losses as can I get.
The AO Tippecanoe has receive 10 hits with 250lbs bombs from diving bombers, probably will be sink tomorrow by a hunger japanese player. I decide not to scuttle to commit KB to keep in the area to sink her.

US Pacific Fleet Report after Maloelap air assault !

26th December like I planned, the US Carrier force under VAdm Halsey have assault the Maloelap japanese air base.
The enemy has lost 20 A6M2 Zero (18 downing by Wildcats and Buffalo LRCAP over USN Carriers and 2 more on ground), 8 G3M Nells (downing by CAP), 3 Bettys destroyed in the ground, and 2 Mavis in the ground too. I lost 10 SBD Dauntless and 1 TBD from Flak (heavy AA fire) in the attack.
The Fleet will heading to Tarawa to screening the landing of 2nd USMC Def Bn in the island. We´ll try to follow the steps of Kido Butai, some SS heading to north to screen KB too. I think this was a successfully attack.

Gilberts Report, Dec 28th 1941

2nd USMC Defense Bat has been unloading without news at Tarawa atoll, will be followed by 117th USN Base Force (ETA dec 30th, 1941)
When unloading finished all forces will back to Fidji island awaiting for USS Yorktown. The 2nd USMC Division will unload at Canton in three days, when will rest and will begin to planning for Maloelap island. PBY will naval search in the area from Tarawa (1 AVD will arrive tomorrow and 1 PBY Sqdn), and when 117 USN disembark in the island, i will increase the airfield to level 1 to wait for P-40C Tomahawk from 18 FG at Canton Island.
The Submarine Force heading north to locate and annoy KB, i need to know about where will it heading to. Probably he will send his carrier at DEI to begin landings at Palembang or Java island.
