Does anyone else have any superstitions when setting up attacks or doing anything else in the game?

For me:

1. I have to move my Carriers from a sea zone or port in order by number, from lowest to highest. So if I have 1,2,3,6,7, that is the order I move them.
2. I have to move in the Carrier Airgroup into the attack by number and if I moved them in in the wrong order, I have to restart the Carrier Airgroup.
3. I usually move the most vulnerable air units last into the battle.
4. If I have a lucky Airborne unit (I used it early when I needed the gun and it survived a hard battle, rolled high, or matched and damaged a unit I needed to take out (like a tank), I bring it in on an important battle.
5. I run through the most favorable battle first and if that goes badly, I cancel other battles (that may be more common sense and adapting tactics though).

These superstitions are from WaW, but Veteran and Elite units, gaining Veteran and Elite status mid battle, and potentially losing a valuable Veteran or Elite unit's battle hardened status to a lucky shot are really making all my instincts towards superstition only worse.

For instance, I just ran through a battle where I had two Veteran units face one flak. 0.22 estimated attacking casualties. On the first shot the flak gained Veteran status, had a really high roll, and my aircraft rolled a one.. damaged. The second aircraft faced a Veteran Flak now which still rolled high, rolled a one on the evasion roll.. damaged.

Those are the hard to measure things. I have also had on turn 1, first battle 2 German Infantry attack Eastern Poland (2 Militia). Both Militia attacked first and both got critical hits (1:200 chance). I restarted that (vs AI) game.

The key to all of this is that none of my superstitions have anything to do with the results since it is all random and has to do with unit matching/rules/random rolls. But superstition is less about the result and what you feel before the result.

What superstitions do you guys have regarding AWD?

Ha ha ha ha very funny indeed, please take no offense.

As to myself I have no superstitions at all, with my little time if I had to be looking which units and in what order I move them first, or what battle I solve first, I'd never be able to answer my pbem games, which is basically the only gaming I do. I guess that's why I keep being kicked, can't try new strategies with the AI.

I wonder if there are any others like you.

Greetings

I suppose if there was something flawed in the way AWD handled its "random" rolls or for determining the order in which multiple same units fight then maybe there's merit, but personally I don't consider such things. I'll just keep adding / removing / or replacing certain units until the numbers seem best in my favor and then just cross my fingers and hope for the best
