I've played many a test season while tweaking my XML file to give me stats I really like (the tweaks have been minor, the stats for a fictional league right of the box are very good). One thing I have noticed, and I know at least one other person on this board has noted the same thing, the MVP award always goes to the player with the most RBIs regardless of the rest of his stats or his team's place in the standings. I know that motnahp, who is running the "No Free Agency, No DH" series, has seen this same thing over the course of his 25 seasons. Many seasons it's not conspicuous because the player with the most RBIs does deserve the award. But there are seasons like the one I simmed tonight where this happens: MVP winner: .265, 24 HRs, 118 RBIs, team finished 5th of 6 teams in division Others: .341, 31, 117, team 2nd of 6 .296, 31, 116, team 1st of 6 .312, 31, 101, team 4th of 6 I see less blatant examples all the time, but this one made me speak up on this tonight. Now, the Best Pitcher award seems to vary based on differing criteria...not always top ERA, not always most wins...so the code there seems good. Is there are problem with the MVP selection code? Has anyone else seen this come up? I'm currently running patch 1.31.
