I may as well weigh in here...

56 years old, work as a Technical Services Specialist for a software company based in Connecticut. I telecommute from Columbia, Missouri. I have been a Cardinals fan since 1958, and I love baseball. I was lucky enough to see Stan the Man, the Say Hey Kid, Gibby, Hammerin' Hank, Mr. Cub, and a host of others live and in color at the old Sportsmans Park on Grand Avenue in St. Louis...if that won't make a fan out of you, nothing will. I was there at Sportsmans for the last game and at the new (now old) Busch Memorial Stadium for the first game.
My favorite moment was seeing Willie Mays hit a flamer deep into right...on his way from second to third, his cap flew off. He stopped, turned around, retrieved his cap, then took off again for third...and made it with a head-first slide.
I can't remember where I first heard about Pure Sim--back in late '03 or early '04, I think--but I do remember it took about 5 minutes for me to get hooked on it. It's the only computer game that has kept my interest for longer than a month.
I am a bit surprised at the age demographic on this thread...maybe the youngsters don't care for this type of entertainment--no fighting ogres, no explosions or fast cars, just simple quiet fun (Except when I yell at my players!). Probably sounds boring to them.
Keep up the good work, Shaun, this game is golden!

Forty-Eight year old Police Detective and USAFR Flight Engineer. In my spare time I help coach Little League and High School baseball and play computer games, mostly strategy war games ( i.e War in the Pacific and and lately Forge of Freedom.) and baseball sims. I also like to play fantasy baseball and have won my league two out of the last four years..The only online leagues Ive been in were Strat leagues but would love to get into a pure-sim league. Favorite teams are the Padres and the Cardinals.

Hi all,

33, married to wonderfully patient woman. Someday she will be canonized as the patron saint of baseball widows, I am convinced of that. We have one beautiful 2-yr old daughter and a son due in February. I grew up in Shrewsbury, MA and have been a Worcester County native all my life, we're in West Boylston now. I am an IT design consultant with a heavy emphasis on the business requirements; DR, security and the like. It's work, it beats the alternative and because my laptop is practically glued to my fingertips I can usually sim 4-5 seasons a week.

Red Sox fan. Former catcher/utility man on a handful of sandlot (NABA/MABL/CM30+) teams around New England, hung up the spikes when the little one came along. I grew up playing Statis-Pro on my C64. When APBA came out on IBM-PC that was my computer baseball game of choice for 15 years. However, I have been a Strat-o-Matic cards&dice addict since 1984. Can't beat that for head to head fun, I have all but 5 seasons, but the PC version leaves more than a bit to be desired.

My biggest want for PS2008 is a head-to-head online play option. I think that whoever started this thread struck the right tone for the board. This is a good community of gamers that loves (and lives) this game. It would be great to get to know guys through online leagues with a live play option for some of the games. That builds comradeship that will last far longer than the leagues themselves.

Hiya,

I'm 32, married, and live in Tucson, AZ. I've spent the past 12 years in active duty AirForce and Air National Guard as an avionics technician on F-15's, C-130's, and currently work F-16's. I met my wife in the AF, she also was avionics. No children yet, but we have a little pup, and he is a big computer baseball fan.

I play the heck out of puresim2007. I also play stuff like SimCity, Flight Simulator, and Civilization. I've always been a baseball fan, and my favorite team is the Phillies.
