Hi, It is not my place to decide what other people think is fun but for me this mod ruins the entire concept of WITP. I like being Japan and having to deal with the historic problems Japan faced. Turning Japan into a 1930's industrial Giant with genius design teams makes this mod something i am not ever going to play. I do think the map is pretty.

The challenge for Japan in WITP is executing a war plan that accomplishes objectives in feasable ways without exploiting the game system. If that means Japan is unable to conquer the world then so be it.  Remember You cannot balance the game later by increasing the Allies because the Allies first need to achive parity before they lose the war. I doubt any Japanese player could lose this mod.  All the power in the world is impotent if it is restricted to US west Coast or Oz. The Allies have to retain advanced bases that can provide support for future offensive operations.

My favorite idea for a mod remains the "free deployment" mod where a third party redeplys existing historic assets before the Japanese player enters his turn 1 orders.  (The Japanese player can still cheat by peeking at Allied deployments but he has already postioned his assets)

Well put Mogami.  This mod can only be played if (a) there is no automatic victory allowed ever and (b) no victory penalties attached to using multiple A bombs.  The winner being determined by who ha the most VP on 31 March 1946.

There is no plausible historical basis for the underlying assumptions.  Even if the political changes had occurred, implausible as they are because a change of culture just does not occur within a few years, there simply was no industrial base available to support this postulated Japanese war capacity.  If anything remotely similar had occurred in real life, there would have been a corresponding reaction from the Allies well before 7 December 1941.  I don't see that being properly implemented in the mod.

It begs the question, why did Japan bother with the PI, SRA, Malaya?  Why not just do what Britain did in 1812 and capture Washington DC on 7 December 1941.

Guys I am out of the game thanks for the support.

Nemo is a truly great player of the game and I have no complaints over his conduct at all he has in fact thus far bent over backwards to accomodate me but I feel on reflection that the game is not for me I am just to conservative to play this type of game.

The new toys are fun but a game where the allies have nothing but Aden and West Coast is about as pointelss as it can be to me and I see no point in continuing I just have a totally different style from Nemo and I should have realised it earlier. Nemo has followed our houserules to the letter and has adjusted for my misunderstandings/issues along the way conceding far more to my foibles than I have to his - but our starting points are just so far apart that I believe we are both wasting our time

I apologise for wasting his time especially the 2nd turn 1 but I am conceding defeat and going back to stock maps and stock map, limitations and tactics it appears to be all I am comfortable with.

Re this game I still honestly feel that it is a game worth playing and for someone more ruthless than I am it could be a LOT of fun you would need to enjoy playing China and Russia because you must bring pressure on Nemo there to have a chance and this is just not my thing.

Nemo feels he is VERY STRETCHED out so he must be vulnerable I am just not the player to exploit it.

I would like to publicly thank Nemo for his attitude over this issue am I am aware that he is looking for an allied player to take over my position and teach him a lesson.

I suspect he will be willing to start from anywhere after the 7th as turn 1 is just to hared to do again using our save I am of course happy to pass on the relevant save and PW for review by anyone else.

I am now closing this AAR

Hi,

It seems that you ended this game due to same reasons me and Nemo called quits. So, I know how you feel.

Nemo pretty much used same strategy againts me too and it got out of hand so to speak!

I was actually following this one to see whether you could put up a better defense and how things turn out. Unfortunately, this one seems to be over.

Best of luck to both of you.
