Hello all,

i have a question about the quick combat screen . I just want to have the outcome, not
the quick screen, how do i do that. I tried several options , but evidently not the right
ones. You know, like in the aar . (that was cool btw, it helped me buy the game).
The point JudgeDredd made is also valid for me, but already answered.
At one time i was looking for a city and at the end it turned out that i had
to click a river ! hehehe
Still trying to figure out how to get that partisan at work.
I think i understand raiders now, you have to place em in enemy territory...right?
I dont know if its in the game, but i really like to see (in a list?) where i have what.
For example i like to know where i have barracks and how much in them.At the
moment i search every cityscreen. If its not in the game, i have to write it down i guess.
I have more to ask , but thats it for now. I have to read the printed (finally !) manual AND play the game. A general's live is tough.

I don't think you can turn off combat to have it just auto resolve but you can choose to have battles auto resolve.  When you start a new game (or in the 'Prefs' section if you are already in one) choose the combat option "Always Detail Option".  By using this option every battle will give you three choices: Detailed Combat, Quick Combat, or Instant.  Chose instant and you will not get any battle screens.

You will have to do this at every battle but it will allow you to skip quick combat.

Yes, Partisans and Raiders must be in enemy territory to do anything, unless the enemy is in your territory (in which case they can just steal guns or destroy supplies, since obviously you don't want them causing economic damage or messing with your own population).

There is no screen that lists where everything is (e.g., a list of all cities with camps), but if you go to the City List and look at the bottom you'll see buttons that tell you which cities have the necessary infrastructure to produce particular units. Thus if you want to find out which cities can produce a ship, which requires a shipyard, you'd click on that button and all of the cities without one would disappear. This comes in very handy.

I have a question - is there a way to "interrupt" the game and go from quick combat to detailed combat - before the combat begins - please be gentle with me if this is in the manual - which I'm still struggling with - it's a big best

I would like to play the big battles once in a while ... or can you work the way around - have detailed battles all the time - and make them quick combat if you like to ?

You can go from detailed to quick or instant once the map has loaded, or at anytime during the detailed battle by clicking on the game menu in the bottom left. However, once a quick combat battle has started, it can't be switched.
