That guy sure has some clean teeth.  I didn't know Crest White Strips were around in the 1800's.

They are those fake, plastic, glow-in-the-dark teeth.

Just so you all know, Pixelpusher posted that image during beta-testing and every tester got to see it and no one complained about the teeth being too white.

But of course, once the game gets released and there are hundreds and then thousands of players, things that were overlooked during the testing process get discovered...

LOL
not fair mate, that is not a tester area

that is a taste issue

I kind of expect my Officers to have clean teeth, it is the NCOs who should have the blackened and missing teeth

Sorry but I do not like these Sim like characters.... so I had a quick, and I mean quick, play..... the screens are easy to edit in Photoshop and thus I suspect we will soon have a load of alternative screens. My personal choice would be to use some actual photographs of the period for my own personal 'mod' but i have to get my DVD down and look. In the meantime, a very different end feel....

I must admit I'm looking forward to alternate screens since the "plastic" look of the background figures really annoys me - the game is far too polished to let those stand!  And the rictus grin...like a bad day at the morgue!
It's a shame too, because overall I really like the game's graphics.  Those digitized warriors just come accross like zombies to me and they kind of ruin the suspension of disbelief when I start the game.
I know- picky, picky, picky...
