Hi,

FYI - I was just picking up the new COTA patch and noticed that a new 1.804 comprehensive patch for WITP has just been posted, too.

Confirmed :)

I have downloaded and installed the patch. Looks fine so far.
The WitP.exe has the same date as the incremental patch, so there should be no reason to apply the COMP over the INCR.

With the COMP patch you can upgrade ANY version to 1.804.

If you have disabled (renamed or deleted) the sound directory BEWARE:
The COMP patch tries to update your sound directory. If the patch doesn't find a sub directory "SOUND" it creates one. And that's the problem. The patch ONLY transfers the updated sound files.
Therefore your game will definitely crash (even if sound is disabled) if and when you leave this situation uncorrected, because the number of sound files will be incorrect (too few).
How to fix: simply delete the "new" sound directory.
You may want to copy and paste its files into you original sound directory before (overwriting the files already there).

SUGGESTION to Matrix (aka Joe and Don): why not put the complete set of sound entries into the sound directory next comp patch? Then this confusing thing won't happen again.

Cheers
Rainer
