Hello,

Last night me and a friend tried to set up a remote Forge of Freedom game.
Unfortunately we were not able to 'hook up'.

The thing is, we're both behind a router and a firewall and we assume that this creates problems. And of course we're both not very handy with computers.

So far we disabled the XP firewall (after trying to add FoF to the Exceptionlist)
And set the router to accept all incoming tcp and udp data (which is then redirected to the internal IP address....)

With no luck

Is there anyone out here who knows routers like the back of his hand? Is it possible to give a FoF over TCP/IP for Dummies???
Any help, hints, tips and/or suggestions would be more than welcome!!

Your routers may also have firewalls independent of your Windows firewall.  For these, you'll need to set up network address translation (NAT) or port forwarding (or else to put your computer in the "DMZ".)  The exact method of doing these things (and the sort of things which you may be able to do) will depend on your router, so you'll need to consult your router documentation for that.
