Are we sure we should be using this thread to post updates on where the game status's are? Isn't that going to fill this forum up with lots of really non-interesting information?

My game with Erik has reached 1942. Not sure if I'll have time for an AAR, but may try to do a short one.

Heh - Forwarn is absolutely steamrolling me! The AAR would be a good example of what not to do as the Allies and how to play a perfect game as the Axis. A tremendously educational experience. :-)

Playing AWD is hard when it is hard to concentrate on anything. I'm a little sick at the moment and thus game progress is slow. ("Wait, where did I want to put that again? Hmm, maybe later." - "Must ... evaluate ... strategy ..." - "Supplies? What supplies? Oh yeah, I need more supplies for that.")

Thanks to my opponents for the patience they've shown. I'll do what I can do.

Argh! The amount of unfavourable rolls is incredible in my game versus Forwarn!

Combined with my limited PBEM experience as the Axis I sense an early death...

As Gkar notes, he has had a tough start - but we are still very early in that game (1940). I wouldn't count out his Axis hordes yet! My game with Erik has concluded and been reported at wargamer. It ended in an Axis Av in mid-43. Good game!

Are the games listed below still in 1939?
I understand Lebatron must have a lot going on with moving and returning to college.
I am just curious about the progress of the games.

Game Axis------vs---------Allies-------------Game Year
01) Avatar47--------------aaminoff----------------1939
02) christian brown-------Avatar47--------------1939
09) Lebatron--------------kondor-----------------1939

Haudrauf1962 vs. GKar has reached 1941.

MrQuiet, would you mind adding the date of conclusion for finished games? It could be interesting to gather some stats during the tournament.

I suggest you email or PM Erik again. In my game with him, he was VERY fast - often getting turns to me within a few hours and always within a day or two.

Christian,

I've been waiting for you. Should have sent another ping I guess to let you know I was waiting. The last e-mail I received from you said you'd have the turn in another day or so, but no turn has arrived. Re-sending my last (Jan 29)...

Regards,

- Erik

My game with wargameplayer is over, I posted the results over on the ladder site a while back, but I guess I need to make a note here too. It was an Allied decisive victory for Wargameplayer.

edit: my game with Avatar47 is in 1942 I believe, its looking like an Axis AV may be coming soon.

Mr. Quiet,
My game with wargameplayer just ended. Axis autovictory in Spring of '43. Jim flat out clobbered me.
Tica v Raphael is now heading towards Winter '43 with the outcome very much still in the balance.
Cheers,
Tim

Thanks for the update tica.
Dont forget to log the game at the Ladder.
I was just there and did not see your game vs Wargameplaya logged.
Congrats to Wargameplayer on winning both of your games in round 1.

I think we are making good progress and the ladder is starting to look more alive.
Good Job all!

Finally GKar vs. Forwarn45 has reached 1942 - on the bright side I don't think my Axis will last until 1945...

I already logged my game vs Jan as defeat, I barely made it to the ´44.
Strike that, I was defeated at fall 1943...

Thanks for the updates.
We are all updated to here.
Congrats Jan on winning both games in round 1.

Current Top 3

JanSorensen---------------------------------130
wargameplayer (wargameplaya)--------120
Forwarn45------------------------------------60

Certainly subject to change but you might have to get use to seeing that name at the top of the list throughout the Tournament.
Hopefully Forwarn45 gives Jan a hard challange in round2.

By the way guys you may start your round 2 games anytime you wish after they have been listed in the other thread here

My game with Avatar47 has ended. I conceded an Axis AV. With the Soviets reduced to the 3 Urals spaces it was just a matter of repairing resources for the Axis to get there, it seems a waste of time to play it out.

Results noted.

I am just curious how many resources he needed to repair?
Even 10 resources is harder to repair in the countryside of Rural Russia than it sounds.
Not much rail capacity out there and it gives the WA more time to take resources from Ger/Jap
Anyway thanks for posting the game.

Hi Mr Quiet ;) hope we get our non-tourney game eventually back on track heh.

Regarding Aaminoff, yes, I had a Decisive Victory in late 42. I had 73 points, which is when Aaminoff conceded. In any case, Russia was so badly mauled, with 4-5 ground units left in the Urals. Japan had joined Barba when it launched Sp41. At this point, I left half the Wehrmacht, some 20 units in Kazan/Astrakhan, to destroy the last vestiges of the USSR in the Urals, and had already moved reserve/idle troops to the west to fend off any WAllies landing, which didn't come. No landing was possible anyhow, as the WAllies were still weak, and Russia was humbled. Whether he did or did not concede, the result would have been the same. I pretty much concentrated complete Axis output against Russia, except for my submarine warfare, which I did invest into also. As a matter of fact, I believe my submarines were giving my opponent quite the trouble....

My game against Christian (brown), me as Allies, is going extremely well too, and Barba hasn't started. Italy surrendered last turn (Su41), with a nice WAllies garrison there, and Greece had flipped in Sp41, which I proceeded to heavily reinforce as well. This coming Fa41, Christian does not have enough troops against either S. Italy or Greece to attack, and hence will most likely need to reinforce them with Barba troops, if he doesn't want more annoying advances into Fortress Europa. Russia is quite strong too, with a good balance of tech investment and inf/artillery. Some tanks were built, but not much. Christians strong point with germany is that he has 19 panzers. However, given the current situation, 38 inf (same PP cost) might have been more useful, as he could distribute them along threatened theaters. Panzers aren't at their most useful when garrisoning. We'll see what happens in Russia these next turns...
