And the old logo,
there is a little distorting of the logo (due to having to stretch it)
its not actually noticable on the player figure but ya' never gonna get a good L3A with it.

So its your choice Commish, Old or the New

personally I prefer the new logo (having designed it, I guess I would say that)
new logo is bigger, crisper & easy to see (even with my eye sight)
but its upto you, either way I'll be making use of the new logo anyway (cheeky eh).

things are getting a little confusing Commish

thought there was 6 rounds entry draft, now its chopped half way through with no explanation
finding myself in the same situation as Ottawa was in the dispersal (when the rule was changed half way through),
had I known we would only have 4 rounds I would have made different selections
I have holes in my roster now that I wasnt expecting.

Also for some reason the link to geocities isnt working,
think its a geocities problem as I arnt able to access any geocities based website at the moment.

Anyway, having said that, I think I'm going to pull out
I cant take part when the rules always change half way through stuff
you never know where you are, so its pointless.

All the best buddy,

Very hard to exsplain something that didn`t happen.Montreal and Saskatchewan are league operated until new owners are found. They had more then enough players to form a good neculous of players.
Atlantic Schooners owner said he was happy with what he had the same with Edmonton and myself in Hamilton. So there through drafting. As stated rosters set.

Depending on where I am working this week I will know Sunday evening I will post when round 6 will need to be sent in.

Hey Guys,

Sorry I did not send my picks in as I'm just getting my computer back in order. I lost all my previous data which has made the task more difficult (need updated free-agent/college lists).

I did notice that I have some players on my roster that I never drafted (don't need 4 quarterbacks) but I can live with this. Also, I think I may be missing some players I drafted, but now I can't say for sure.

If I'm reading things correctly, I still need to fill about six slots on my team, which I assume will be with free agents??

Commish, let me know what I need to do to get my team ready for the season, I'll get this done right away.

Mykal, I know you're frustrated, but don't give up just yet! Every league has it's growing pains and once the season starts, I think things will be a lot better.

Frustrated dont even begin to describe it Rick

not wanting to discuss the background stuff and just looking at what everyone else see's.

Dispersal draft cut in half with little or no warning
free agents draft stopped after 3 rounds, no limit was set on this, so dont know if that was short or not, but we should have known in advance
Entry draft, nothing was posted about round 5 and 6 and teams started cutting, so maybe I jumped the gun but with the way things have been going what conclusion was I going to jump too.
then there's all the invalid selections being made, with no reason as I kept updating and posting the league DB, if GM's cant be bothered to download it, then I cant be bothered to do it, if you see my point.

whats suprising is : as league president I should have been first to know whats going on, yet Im as much in the dark as everyone else.

Now I realise its all just a bit of fun and should be kept in context
but I picked the VCFL to take part in for its CFL type approach to the league
and the rules which it outlines,
if your going to have a set of rules, then they should at least be followed or its pointless having them in the first place.

So all that said & in the interest of keeping the VCFL a happy place, its long since time I left, its not fun for me to keep having to correct mistake after mistake and it cant be fun for Commish to keep having to listen to my complaining about this or that being wrong either.

I had hoped to help push the VCFL in popularity and assist Commish in getting things done smoothly but we seem to keep having communication problems and things could have run better to say the least,
I've already applied to join MBCFL with my Yellowknife, so will no doubt pop up in there league after there present season has finished and an open slot can be created, there rule set isnt as detailed as the VCFL (which is a small downside) but as long as the rules that are there are followed, Then I can live with that,
I just like to know where I am, not always wondering whats going on, or it aint fun.................and thats the point of it....aint it.

Thanks Rick,
I can honestly say Im 100% happy with the way it came out too,
It's not often I go all out and design the logo for a team from scratch aswell as the uniform
I usually just go with a logo I found, so it was very pleasing to design my own and update the old Beavers logo.

The VCFL looks like its in dire straights.Could this be another online league on the verge of colapse. There only seems to be the MBCFL and MLF that are going now. With a new indoor league trying to start up with two indoor leagues failing. Is it the game or is there no interest in online leagues.
Knowing VCFL Commish the league will be here for years to come.Good look boys looking forwar to the upcoming VCFL season. Also would like to thank the VCFL Commish with his help with the CFC plans are in the works to finially play our first down. Thanks for the VCFL database.

To me the problem is this game requires so much commish work because it doesn't do things like

1. Easily Facilitate Trades
2. Easily Facilitate Lineups (Come on, at this point we should be able to have Offensive Tackles/Guards/Centers/Defensive Ends)
3. Facilitate Website Creation

P***ing in the wind asking for those things though.

Hey Mykal,

OK.....

I understand your frustration and can appreciate your decision. That said, I've offered my services to our Commish to get things organized and the league moving forward.

I need a couple of days since I'm in the middle of a new NFL football season in one league, getting ready for playoffs in a NHL draft league, starting a new Strat-O-Matic hockey league and now the VCFL.

I would still like to have you aboard as the manager of the Sabercats. Please let me know what your intentions are and that you would like to stay on as a manger.

I appreciate the hard work you've done with stadiums, artwork and the like. The VCFL is grateful for this and thank you for allowing us to use them.

Hope to see you come along for the ride!!

Well i'm certain the VCFL will be around for a long time to come,

The Few minor problems the league is having will soon be ironed out I'm sure
Me and My "Things have to be right" attitude, probarbly came at the wrong time for Commish
with his life pretty much upside down at the moment and so far away from his partner.

I for one would hate to see the VCFL disappear, although like I already said I'm sure it wont happen
although if things were to go on the slide, I'd be more than willing to try and help pull it back up
All things considered, Commish is a very likable guy and try's hard to bring something new and interesting to this game.

VCFL Rock's, I hope it all works out and really turns into kick ass league.

As for the art work.............

Most welcome, I enjoyed making it all
and its use in the VCFL, Honours me

Should you guys need anything else graphical in the future, you know where to find me
I be happy to do it.

The first thing we need to do is find out who is still on board.

Please, list you intentions here, are you in or out??

I think it's a combination of factors.
First is the actual number of people who own the game AND actually hang out on the forums. I have no idea what the total number of game owners is, but you would need a large number to own it, and then a good percentage of that who would want to participate in a sim league. In its glory days, there were tons of FBPro leagues, sim and H2H. But, even then, there was a lot of turnover and dead weight. I dont think there are enough people on the forums now, to support very many leagues. Even the few that exist have crossover owners.

Second, I think a lot of people are caught in the "Wait for the next update" groove. Nobody wants to get too involved in this or that because of various bugs...so they just wait and see if the next update will solve the issues.

Third, and this is one of the reasons I ended the NCFL, is the fact that of those owners who do play in online leagues, you get the Hardcore, casual, and rarely there. The hardcore destroy all who challenge, the casual are good owners who just dont have the time or maybe interest in being Bill Walsh. The rarely there, like to join leagues but dont participate much.
It creates an ugly imbalance that will eventually cause turnover, or an end to the league. If the community was larger, the leagues would balance out. There would always be a league for peoples level of interest.

Gentleman,

Here are my suggestions to get this league started.

1) Use season one as a testing ground to determine how functional the game really is
2) Fill in remaining roster spots randomly and ignore salary cap for season one
3) Implement an easy method of setting up lineups (excel works)
4) Get the season started

We will use the first season to work out any bugs and properly prepare for season number two. At that time....

1) Organize the league rules completely
2) Prepare proper draft lists (free agent and college) for upcoming season and a set number of rounds
3) Implement a salary cap and import ratio
4) Structure league where all participating teams are managed

These are my suggestions.
