OK, testing Scenario 15, Historical Start, under 1.806. I'm going to play both sides locally. Settings: combat reports on, combat animations on. Entered passwords for each side, and ensured that CR's and CA's were still both turned on for both sides. Ran the historical 12/7/41 turn and immediately noticed there were no combat animations. After the combat replay, the Japanese orders phase started, and I checked the preferences and options from within the turn. Both CR and CA were now set to OFF. I manually turned both of them back on from here, ended the Japanese orders and saved the turn. I loaded the combat replay, and it showed no Combat Animations (as I thought it would be), and generated no CR. I then loaded the Allied turn, checked the preferences and options from within the turn, and both were set to ON, as expected from the Japanese player manually turning them back on. I ended the Allied turn and saved it. I loaded the Japanese player's turn, and it displayed the Combat Animations and generated a Combat Report. I verified that both were still ON in the preferences and options and then ended the turn. Allied player loaded the combat replay, was able to see Combat Animations, and had a Combat Report generated. Both CA and CR were still set ON in preferences and options. Summary: This is exactly the behavior I saw when testing under 1.804. By playing both sides, I was able to get both CA and CR turned back on, after the "Historical Start Bug" turned them off. Looks like it's still here under 1.806. Sadly, when my PBEM Japanese opponent and I tried to get these turned back on, we got the animations to turn on, but neither of us still get Combat Reports generated after many tries. Just a side note: I was able to see my first example of the Sync Bug during the turn 2 testing. I was hitting the Esc key often to speed up the combat replay as Japan. On turn 2, Japan captured Wake and eliminated the US units there. The Allied replay showed only an Allied bombardment attack at Wake that day, but loading the actual turn showed Wake as captured. Ok, Bob. Get this fixed.
