On the 7th japanese aviation started to bomb Akyab. I had no planes there, because all my squadrons have upgraded on the 1st and are now repairing the planes. Maybe for these reason Chuck decided to bomb the troops and not the airbase.
But now the situation has changed. In Akyab I have now 86 bombers and 100 fighters that will attack Rangoon airport, while in Dimapur I have 48 bombers and 54 fighters, that will attack Magwe airfield.

66 Wellington and 14 Hudson bombed Rangoon afld. The 20 Oscar on CAP have been unabled to stop them. No great damages to the airfield but 11 bombs on the runway.

74 japanese bombers striked back on Akyab, but my CAP were ready and shot down 3 Oscars and 3 Lilys, while 3 of my fighters have been lost. Only 5 hits on the runway.

Chuck sent a cruiser TF to shell Akyab however the enemy ships haven’t done many damages. I responded with an air raid against Rangoon, made by 51 bombers that destroyed 3 enemy planes and caused some damages to the enemy base.
In the afternoon 98 jap bombers, without fighter escort. My Hurrie have done an excellent job, and shot down 15 enemy planes.

Air war over Burma is continuing. Today I lost 6 fighters, while Chuck lost 6 Oscars. But this was, again, the only action during the entire day.

Chuck responded to my air attacks, sending a SAG to shell Akyab airport: 21 aircrafts have been destroyed and 2140 men killed or injuried.
The enemy ships have not been spotted due to the bad weather. Now the afld is almost closed. But the city is still well defended on the ground and I really have good chance to keep it under my control for the rest of the war. This will be, by now, the main goal for this area.

Now jap aviation has an easy job to bombard Akyab. Only 8 fighter were in CAP and they shot down 5 enemy planes (another 47 have been damaged by AA), but 13 of my a/c have been shot down or destroyed on the ground.
Now I’ve decided to evacuate all the flying planes to Calcutta. The battle for the sky over Akyab has been, by now, won by the japs.
