Hia Guys,

For some of you who may have issues with ports and port forwading and or router / firewall issues, here is a great site for helping set up your machine:

http://portforward.com/

It has almost every make of router covered and has some very useful apps, in some cases it can even auto configure what you need.

Cheers

Sulla

EDIT Andrew Williams

You also must make sure your Firewall is allowing CoI to access the internet

CoI Ports
2300 to 2400 udp/TCP
6073 TCP
47624 TCP

thinks its 29 dollars to buy the automatic port forwarding program, can  be downloaded, then registration number needs to be 'bought'
im thinking of doing it, tried manual port forward, worked on NB1300, but this new netgear 4 ethernet/wireless with NAT and SPI firewalls are really giving me curry!
cant get (can send, go figure)emails(outlook) cant download with eMual, cant host CoI/and CC series, can be hosted...phew...

ok I have done everything as explained on this website and it still not work. I have a question though, how come I can play unreal tournament multiplayer, and a gazillion of other games, including CC3 on battle HQ, but not MCC3 withtout having to configure all this huge stuff? Where is the damn difference? I am confused....

If you can host a game and join a game of CoI on BHQ you will be able to play h2h on MMCC3 under the following circumstances....

http://www.closecombat.org/forums/showthread.php?t=12671

ps. The gazillion other games you can play are run from a dedicated server somwhere on the internet.

CoI/Close Combat and a Bazillion games are served from your PC and your opponents.

Any h2h under this scenario requires a little knowledge of your PC to set up and play safely.

Ok guys I think it might be a bit helpful if you provided more info for your customers. It would be helpful for you to list ALL the ports we need to forward in the post above. I mean for everything MMCCIII Close Combat 3 and everything else for internet play.

As a test try following the instruction you just posted. Click on the link and then what? there is nothing in portforward.com that shows how to setup port forwarding for your game.

You also must make sure your Firewall is allowing CoI to access the internet

CoI Ports
2300 to 2400 udp/TCP
6073 TCP
47624 TCP

For MMCCIII

Ports 1939 to 1945 and 2108 to 2110 must be open/forwarded in your router/modem for this app. to function correctly.

How about an explaining on how to setup router also?
That portforward page isnt really helping at all when people dont know which ports to open for Close Combat Cross of Iron.

Most people i know who have this game want to play online, but they cant connect to eachothers games.
And directing them to a page that doesnt cover Close Combat Cross of Iron isnt helping at all.

It's impossibile to post configuration data for each router. There is an huge number of router, each one with his own configuration panel and specifications.

Bye.

It's impossible to post what ports to open and what to do?
There is a thousand routers, but you got to do the same thing in each of them.
I know how to access my router, but i dont know what im doing from there.

As posted in this thread above

2300 to 2400 udp/TCP
6073 TCP
47624 TCP

A lot of routers , including D-Link, are easy set up as you just have to choose directctX 7/8 games from it's virtual server page and forward them to your PC.

For MMCCIII

Ports 1939 to 1945 and 2108 to 2110 must be open/forwarded in your router/modem for this app. to function correctly.

Then you either have a firewall (software or hardware) blocking you or the ports are forwarded to the wrong IP address.

Can you connect to other people?
