I understood it was the HMS Cornwall, and I've been wondering the same thing.

Well it looks like Iran is at it again. They've detained at least 15 (some reports say 25) RN sailors that were on inspection duty in the Shatt Al Arab.

but then what action would you have taken VC ? Shoot over your own mens heads at the Iranians. ? As far it seems a number of small patrol craft have anticipated the inaction nonetheless, for what purpose remains.

Perhaps objected loudly and said "come on chaps , thats just not cricket ! " ? There is little you can do when you play by the rules and international thugs / criminals such as those in power in Tehran decide to kidnap / abuduct uniformed men enforcing United Nations Resolutions.

This is totally unjustified and I dont care how much people tell me this is just a little game and the men will be home soon , I dont give a (rats tail) , this is posturing and games Iran has no right in playing. They are over their heads , go back and play power games in their own backyard , not on the international stage...

Would the world tolerate such behaviour from the 'actual' big players , who are Nuclear and who are actually regional leaders , like China. when there was that incident with the Hawkeye , I am sure the USN was treated well , and not subject to mock executions or talk or being tried as 'spies'.

sorry for the rant , have a good day everyone !
carry on , nevermind me. i wont say anymore.

(a little better)

It sounds as if Coalition forces need to revise the ROE.

hehe the ROE out there is the usual don't fire unless they fire first, Cornwall was indeed locked and loaded ready for rounds out as Dale says, considering both RN boarding party boats have a great rate of knots on them ( in access of 55 kts they should have been able to schoot outa there under cover of Cornwalls 4.5" gun and close range guns but as always Politics has its part to play, they would rather have 15 saliors disappear than start a war, saying that a Bush and Blair Combo is what is required and by the latest messages from Mr Blair it could be sooner rather than later..... as in the case of me I'm out there next year with the usual Government warning on me " In case of War break glass" hehe.

Sounds like the ROE is a little different for the US, if this report is to be believed: Defence Talk link

 Good news this hour.

Ahmedinajad questions having a women and a mother in 'the most dangrous of missions'. Women were a key to winning a world war once. Not a weakness sir, but a strength of western peoples.

Scrap that scenario Taitennek, or make one with big 'no cross' threat zones in it. ;)

Happy Easter

I do not scrap anything!
The PlayersDB Scnenario-Depot is hosting scenario's, designed with PDB.

ALL scenario's are welcome, no matter what conflict they do represent. This is the essence of Harpgaming!

For sofar the Depot.....

The Brits also could to admit that they were in fact operating within territorial waters of Iran. Or ist it a prelude to something naugthy?

Happy Easter for you as well
