Is there going to be a Modders' Help Guide and Toolkit for those wishing to mod things?

I have Office '97 and it seems the Excel '97 program has problems with FoF files.

I can get an Office 2000, 2003 or later copy (free too ), and will that correct the problems I have with excel '97 in Office '97 using WinXP Home Edition??

Can we have a simple and straight forward modding instruction list explaining things such as: 1) This is how to mod Building statistics. 2) This is how to mod the Guns.txt File. etc.

Much is easily decipherable but there are some things that may not be.

A list of State and Province ID #'s would be nice for people to have so we don't have to do this ourselves.

Etc.

Chris

Office 2000 Excel loads the text files up just fine, just set Tabs as the delimiter before hitting <next> and 'voila, you have it, all you have to do is dress it up.

I started to change the header names, but decided better of it, in case I want to make changes and dump it to text output.

What's really nice is if you have Adobe Acrobat Professional, you can output the Excel "Sheets" as PDF pages, again after some adjustments. I'm thinking about doing this for different scenarios, and appending this to the back of the manual to account for update modifications after the coming beta update, since I can't directly update/modify the PDF manual itself.

Hope you'll rejoin us soon. We all know you have great insight into Civil War information.
